[PSA] YOUR DOMAIN IS WORTHLESS! [READ BEFORE ADVERTISING]
This section is full of people asking how much their domain is worth or trying to sell worthless domains for ludicrous amounts of money.
This thread will help you answer the question "How much is my domain worth?" I'll also show you where to sell your domain. Quick Disclaimer: I am not a professional domain appraiser or site flipper, but most of this post requires only common sense to know. TL:DR; If there is no potential profit to be made by the buyer of the domain, it is worthless. ---------------------------------------- If your domain meets any of the following criteria, it is likely worthless! (There are of course exceptions.) CASE: Uncommon TLD (One of those .loan or .win domains that everyone keeps selling - even if it's something like cheap.loan) REASON: There's a whole host of reasons why these aren't (YET) valuable, unless associated with a great website or good traffic. CASE: Zero / low traffic. REASON: Should be self explanatory... CASE: Ranks for zero keywords, or keywords with zero search volume / zero competition. REASON: I could buy a brand new domain and make it rank for better keywords in a day. Keywords with zero traffic are useless. CASE: Domain has previously been penalized or has a spammed backlink profile. REASON: Would likely cost more money and effort to recover from than it's worth. CASE: Domain name contains a word similar to a popular brand. REASON: AmazonRainForest.com isn't worth billions just because it has the word Amazon in it. CONCLUSION: 99% of the time - a domain without a site or some form of potential profit attached to it is worthless. ---------------------------------------- If however your domain meets any of these criteria, it may have some additional value. CASE: Premium Domain REASON: Domains with certain terms, such as "sucks" (For example GoogleSucks.com) are worth considerably more money. The TLD .sucks also seems to be worth more. CASE: Linked to a website with lots of traffic / traffic that converts. REASON: Big profit potential. CASE: Linked to a social profile with a large following. REASON: Can easily be used to drive converting visitors. CASE: Ranks for keywords with high search volume or high competition. REASON: Again, can be used to make profit. CASE: Good backlinks with strong domain stats. REASON: Higher authority makes it easier to rank for competitive keywords. CASE: EDU/GOV Domain REASON: How did you get this? ---------------------------------------- Where to sell your domain: Flippa NameCheap GoDaddy Auctions Just Google it... Seriously, it isn't that hard. Thanks!

RE: [PSA] YOUR DOMAIN IS WORTHLESS! [READ BEFORE ADVERTISING]
I think this is all true. Yes, it requires common sense to know all these but still in a hurry people usually forget these.
Thanks for reminding and sharing. Keep it u JLR0309 |
