Need help buying DEFI

Hey all,

I am a bit of a novice when it comes to cryptocurrency. I do follow them and have a small portfolio but nothing big just yet. Recently, I have noticed DEFI which has been going high and low and I thought it might be a way of making some profits. I thought it would be as simple as finding a place that it is for sale, buy it and then trade to BTC or USD when I want to take the money out but I can't even find where to buy DEFI.

- I registered with Crypto.com which is mentioned on that site and went through the verification process only to find DEFI isn't sold there.

- I track cryptos using the Coin Market App and they mentioned it was available on BitZ exchange which it seems I would have to purchase USDT first and exchange it to DEFI. It's not something I have done before so unsure of it. Would that be USDT > DEFI and then when I want to take it out DEFI > USDT > BTC > USD. Seems like a lot of work but is that correct?

Can anyone guide me as to how to actually purchase it and sorry if this sounds a bit stupid but as I said I am really a novice to all of this but I would like to learn.

A lot of the DeFi coins are being bought on uniswap or balancer. Figure out how to use those.
