I use udemy-dl ALL of the time (I don't have the patience to sit and watch any udemy course on their platform. I prefer watching on VLC).

Most of the courses I subscribe to are only a couple hours long, but I have downloaded a few 10 hours+ courses (usually in about an hour with udemy-dl) and my account is still active. In fact, I usually bulk download using udemy-dl and a batch file, so from my point of view, doesn't look like udemy-dl is the problem here. However, I am not "attached" to my udemy account either.

Since they have closed udemy-dl github page (udemy-dl by nishad) it sounded logical to me that they might have it under the microscope!

I think it's not in their interest to disclose all the cards about what exactly were they trying to do.
Something I could guess is: the referring coupon sites may be some kind of a red flag (I got my coupons not only from here but also from a couple of those).

Give a review of the site's surveys at the beginning of the very course?

so the last consideration : why do you not buy the one or two or more .... course from that site?

Don't get me wrong, I truly hope that your're 100% right!

I have used that tool myself in the past, but the things that udemy does makes me worried.

Their no download policy makes no sense, if students are allowed to download the courses on their mobile app, there should be a way do extract the contents anyway.

Netflix gets all their shows ripped and scattered all around the internet, and I'm sure its much worse than udemy's stuff, yet they are standing strong! what's with all the greed, udemy?
