difference here though is that this is one guy for now and someone who doesn't want to deal with the marketing but this is something good to be aware of when planning to get someone to do that end of things. people have to be on the up and up or shit goes backwards FAST

Personalizing and actively trying to help the client wins every time. Even if you can't do shit about the problem (e.g. a USB port is flat out broken).

I have not ever had a problem with someone not wanting to pay unless they are truly trying to scam me for a service. Which has happened.

Everyone else, even the ones who had an actual physical problem, had paid for the time at the very least. They figure X per hour for an hour of identifying and letting them know the solution (in these hardware cases) was worth it.

Maybe its my explanation skills.. Who knows..
