You'd be surprised at how weak Lee Cole's bonus is. I fell for the hype. This is his bonus (it's a text file and this is what's inside): [hide]Bonus to Local Email Takeover This might sound a wee bit like it's "not a big deal". But in the world of email marketing to businesses, it is. What I'm talking about is your email address. Where the email comes from. Put yourself in the shoes of a busy business owner. You get two unsolicited emails. One from here: maggie77@msn.com . The other from here: bill@vantekk.com . Question...when you get an email, don't you look to see who it's from? I know browser emails usually have the senders name, but a lot of businesses don't necessarily use those. A lot of them use other email software, and often that email address is one of the first things they see. So, with the above two examples, whose email are you most likely to delete and whose are you most likely to open. For me, it would be the second one that would get looked at. I would think on the first one...who the heck is Maggie? So, if you're going to be emailing businesses, you need to do this from a domain that you own. A domain that sounds professional. If you don't know how to buy a domain name, check out this video of mine. It's the first one on this page... http://internetmaverick.com/nuts-and-bolts/ (Just copy and paste. This is a text file. That's not a link.) So, to make Jamie's system work like gang busters, create an email that looks like a business email! [/spoiler] |

RE:
So his suggestion is to get your domains and hosting blacklisted. I would prefer to use blahblahblah@gmail.com and in the name field put in John Smith or John Smith at Company or something like that.

My opinion is that if we're mailing to actual business owners/managers, we shouldn't be sending anything that would get us blacklisted, anyway. Much better to use the domain email and make your mailings above reproach. Anything less will be ignored by businesses, anyway.

RE:
Lee is so full of sh*t. You know what emails local businesses open up? Ones that look like CUSTOMERS and NOT SOLICITORS from ABCmarketing. You want to send it from JohnNewYorkGuy@gmail.com instead of JohnPerriwinkle@abcMarketing.com
Getting them opened is the FIRST part you've got to make happen. Use yesware or hubshout's free email trackers. Email them right back if you see a double open...or call them. Don't send them out in mass, or you won't know who is opening what. Include in your signature your actual business email and website address. Show your legit. Tell them they can reply to that very email or email you at you@yourbiz.com Getting them interested enough to call/email you...well, that's tougher. I can't vouch for the main course email...sounds like every other email that wso's pitch. I think they go play 7 minutes in heaven with each other on those trips and trade fake sales letters and email letters lol. |

The problem I have with using a domain name I register is that I'm going to have to burn through hosting pretty quickly. If I send 100 emails in one day if I get a couple of spam complaints my hosting will either get shut down or my IP will get blacklisted and then I will have poor delivery rates.(01-29-2014 08:17 AM)verminator Wrote: So his suggestion is to get your domains and hosting blacklisted. I haven't tested it so I can't say with authority one way or the other is better, but I'm pointing out the negatives of using your own domain. This course does not cover mass email blasts which is what I want to do and was hoping this was about. This is about sending out emails manually. |
