Litecoin mining. Any thoughts?
Yeah, yeah I know. Another thread about cryptocurrencies. Just move on if you're not interested ;)

Back on track. I've been thinking it might be interesting to build a few of these miners just for the hell of it. http://www.cryptobadger.com/build-your-o...ining-rig/

I'd just plug them in and forget them for a year. It may be a big waste of money and I may not make a cent of profit in the end but you never know. If all else fails I could turn them into some nice gaming PC's for the kids.

Anyone doing this here already? If so post up some pics of your setup if you got the time.

RE:
As i have heard, there soon will be ASIC for faster mining and probably it will bring down the regular miners. I personally decided not to jump in mining only because i can not afford good ASIC. A friend of mine bought some cards and made a the rig for mining bitcoins but after the ASIC boom he has orientated to litecoin mining and is satisfied with the earnings.. so it all depends..

Code:

it is a detailed ROI calculation for litecoin miner, well maybe the numbers are a little bit outdated, but still can be useful!

RE:
what i NEVER understood is the creating of coins out of thin air. Solving a random math problem has NO value, but people are paid 'money' to do it.
Then the money is assigned real world value.
seems like a ploy by the creator of the 'coin' to make himself rich
