Here is an idea.. set up a made phoney computer security consultant site. Data mine the AOL list, may be make up some crazy stuff. If Myspace and children's safety can be thrown in to the mix, all the better.

Send out a few press releases, doing the standard FARK/Digg/etc submissions. Plug the security consultant site a ton. Hit up the e-mail addresses of the contacts at CNN etc that responded to the sorority story.

Now, say that users can visit the site for information on securing their personal privacy online, and just push some adware/spyware removal affiliate offer. There might be some better stuff too, like Evidence Eliminator or something.

So.. not only do you have a story for lots of traffic, but the traffic would be targeted and should convert if you can get in the mainstream sources (forget digg or whatever, that would just be for backlinks.)
