INFO- Udemy updating the free course policy
Sharing this information from Udemy as I just noticed
We're updating the free course experience for students and instructors: New free courses (published after March 17, 2020) must have less than 2 hours of video content. Existing free courses (published before March 17, 2020) that contain more than 2 hours of video content will remain published. All free courses will only consist of video content and resources. Certificate of completion, Q&A, and direct messaging will only be available for paid enrollments. To learn more about the new free course experience and policy read our FAQ on the teaching center. https://teach.udemy.com/changes-free-courses/ |

RE: INFO- Udemy updating the free course policy
Important to know. Thanks.
Udemy is turning the screws on free course certificates, forcing people to pay if they want the benefit of a certificate. The party will soon be over. Good while it lasted. |

RE: INFO- Udemy updating the free course policy
:| It is necessary to learn about these big changes :( Many thanks for sharing cgcg bro!
I respect the purpose of Udemy that wants to help the instructors (making a difference between paid and free students) but not in the best way because this will not be good for the students! And now the free courses (F4LT) will only be tasters of less than 2 hours and will not be anymore full courses :( Udemy will lose great and big free courses and all will lose all reputation about the quality of the free courses; a very bad decision! This is the ONLY opportunity that many people have to buy all FREE courses that can before all that courses will go forever! And also we most download our favorities free courses we can just in case! We HOPE that the instructors will continue sharing COUPONS; that is the ONLY HOPE we have to still GET great FULL AND REAL courses for FREE; and we will continue writing honest REVIEWS and PROMOTING their courses also for FREE! :) Full Document here (as a backup): Magic Button :

Does this apply to the temporary free coupons as well? Or just basic free courses only? [/quote] just basic free courses, as temporary free with coupons are actually paid courses. |

RE: INFO- Udemy updating the free course policy
I've seen some courses with just over 30 minutes on Udemy their course (some free and some paid/free with coupon courses)
So this will apply only to the free only courses after march 17, 2020? |

RE: INFO- Udemy updating the free course policy
To my eyes their new 'rules' are all about forcing some cost savings in their BW usage - typical of when some exec needs to justify his salary.
Seems like a good time for the smart members here to look into the tools to DL their best courses. Usually once things start tightening up like this, other measures come right along because they want FAST results and do not care at all about either the quality of what they offer nor about the users who fill their paychecks.
I totally despise board spammers and spambots !!!

RE: INFO- Udemy updating the free course policy
--------------------
* QUESTION: How can a new free course be of 8 hours even with the new changes of Udemy policies (with a limit to free courses of no more than 2 hours)? http://bestblackhatforum.com/Thread-F4LT-HVAC-DESIGN-SYSTEMS-BASICS-BY-SM-TECHNO-8-hours?pid=3001201#pid3001201 * You can still get a lot of free courses with more than 7 hours of content, but now without certificates and without access to the instructors (FAQ and direct messages): http://bestblackhatforum.com/Thread-BUNDLE-342-courses-F4LT-with-7-to-17-hours-of-content-each-one-English?pid=3000684#pid3000684 :)
