Well I have been thinking about this for a while now too.
One thing that might be tried also is to modify the forum from being crawled by the robots or web spiders. There is some info about this here http://www.robotstxt.org/ For example do a search for a wso, ebook, or software release etc. that you are interested in. You will find results for many of them that lead straight to this site. This forum is making it too easy to find these things. It is my opinion all a product owner has to do is Google his product, a null or crack for it etc. he sees it comes straight here and reports it to get it shut down. I know this will not be a fix all, but if these can only be posted in one specific area that is off limits to the spiders it is worth a test and might slow things down along with file renaming when doing uploads so the product is not searchable be name in the uploads either. Does this sound like something that can be at least tested? I am just trying to give back in my own small minded little way
