Howzit from South Africa
Hi all!

Just joined and came from another site that shares the same slogan.

I joined after I found the forum while looking for a particular Wordpress plugin.

I'm busy building my first Wordpress site and have so far purchased a premium theme, and one premium plugin. Just before I share them, is there any way for the theme developers to trace it back via an embedded tracking code or something? I know it will probably be removed during the nulling process, but should it be downloaded prior to nulling, what happens then? Never done all this before :)

And so I've been downloading nulled plugins and testing them on an offline dev server before purchasing so that I can check compatibility etc. Get annoyed when purchasing only to discover incompatibilities and then having to jump through hoops for a refund. Only bought two so far anyways.

Having said that, I intend only to build this one site of mine and that's it. I won't be purchasing any more, at least until I need to for whatever reason and will therefore be unable to contribute as much as I would like! But will definitely be contributing by way of discussions and all that good stuff.

I'm sure I'll enjoy my stay, and I hope you do too! (My stay that is!)

Hello Decklar,

Welcome to The BBHF!

I am also interested in WordPress, and have lots of the same questions as you.

I don't know the answer to your "Nulling Question", but lots of themes don't need nulling. It kind of depends on the publisher. Also lots of plugins don't need nulling. Some of the best, you can use them without a license, but you can't get updates to the newest versions. BackupBuddy is a good example of this. BackupBuddy is one of the best backup plugins available for WordPress. You can find it here on this forum. It might be in the VIP Sections, I don't remember right now.

Another way to know if the theme/plugin might need nulling is did you have to "Register" the domain name that you were going to use the theme/plugin on? If so, they are tracking the item! If you didn't register a domain name to the theme/plugin, then it might not need nulling.

The rule of thumb I use is to only use what I buy/get for myself, unless it comes from a forum like this from a share by a member (with good post and rep counts (this shows they mean business, and want to help the forum) who bought it directly from the publisher. If you read the WordPress sections, you can learn more and try to locate items by the same publisher as the ones you bought, and other members may have already mentioned if the theme/plugin needs nulling or not.

You could also check the theme/plugin sections on this forum, and you will notice that we have many great crackers who are members. You could send them a PM (Private Message) and ask them if they would like to null it. If they say yes, then they would null and test it, and then they would share it with the rest of the forum. They would also give you credit for the share. It never hurts to ask, and it would also be safer to get a good cracker to check it out.

Hey, you might want to consider joining the SuperVIP, so you could get access to more sections. It is only 50.00 for a lifetime membership.

We have so much to see, learn and do here! Look around and have fun!

C'ya

Mushin

Hey mushin,

Thanks for the response!

I've already noticed a few members (a lot actually) on the freebies forum that have responded to requests to null. I will definitely contact them individually and send files privately, incase they are being tracked!

You mentioned some plugins require a domain registration when purchasing. My themeforest and code canyon ones did not, so I imagine it should be safe! I only needed to register them using the API key once installed.

I'll ask around.

Thanks for the warm welcome!
