How do you clean a big email list for free for bulk mailing?

These email cleaning companies charge an arm and a leg for a couple thousand emails.

I know that there is a free way but I have not been able to find it so far.

There is no magic list cleaner.

You can find email verifier softwares but they are not 100% reliable at all. Just for example they can check DNS and maybe trying to simulate mail sending thru an smtp server (yeah, lol) ... don't waste your time.

Best options for you:
1, Just send a campaign to those email addresses and sort out the bad apples thru soft and hard bounces.
2, Get a really (i mean REALLY!) huge and frequently updated supression list and run against your list.
3, Give up and get a lottery ticket. /jk

that sounds ok .. problem is.. you can get your ip's blacklisted in a big hurry or get kicked off any ems (with so many bounces)
best software is: maxprog email-verifier (search for it here - I think someone has a s/n for it) or pm me and will send it to you
also for online - I use http://www.mycleanlist.com - cheapest and pretty good
with that combo you should get a pretty clean list

copxxx is right, its what i'm doing too

blacklisted? so what? its not like your going to be blocked by all the domains in the world lol, it will still verify most emails.
if its really the burned then buy another one.

here are your choices:

buy cheap servers around $15..buy ,burn,buy again
or chop your arm or leg for those expensive list cleaners($thousands)

anyways the best way to clean a list is to send real emails to them rather than just checking if they exist, so your really better way off cleaning them yourself
