RE: How To FInd Images???
If it’s on a stock photo site, then it’s more likely than not to be copyrighted by that site (or by a photographer who uploaded it to reach more buyers via the site). So that should probably be noted first.
But keeping in mind that you may not have proper permission to use the image if you do find it somewhere else, here’s a way that you may be able to find it somewhere else. Try: First screen shotting the image. If you have the option of making it bigger (not just by using your keyboard - but an enlarge button within the stock site), then do that prior. The reason is so that you have an image that’s as big and as clear as possible. Then, going to images dot google dot com and dragging the screen shotted image into the search field. This method will be hit or miss. But what that does is that it searches based on the features within the image. I think it also uses an image’s name when searching, but that won’t be an option for this type of search because you’ll be searching using a screen shot instead of an image that was downloaded from somewhere else. But a good way to test out what I mean before actually doing a search on a screenshot would be to try it out using the sort of image you’d regularly find online (as in, one that is not added to a site with as many concerns about usage rights). A good example is mtv dot com - it’s a popular, visual site and they update the content regularly. Find an image on there and do a regular “save as” on the image. Then, plug that image into the images dot google dot com search field and you’ll see how a standard search is done. |
