[HELP] OK now we have all these email lists, now what??

Hello everyone,
I have some questions to all of the marketing gurus in this forum. I m starting now to apply email marketing on my business (well i have been using emails for many years but now in the level i should).
We have a lot of email lists here in the forum but how many of this lists are useful?
What could we do with thoses lists (how to check if they are real, what service to use in order to send and not pay thousands of dollars etc)?
Is there anyone that have been using those lists and actualy making money? What is the best tactics for an effective email marketing?
I would like to make this an open discussion for everyone! Now that we have some lists how should we use this?

I haven't used any of the email lists shared here, so I can't say anything good or bad about them. Generally speaking though, email lists shared in public, have little value and/or can be dangerous.

Of little value because either the leads have been spammed to death already or they will be soon; since by now everyone and their mother have access to them. You also don't have a way to confirm the origin of the leads or how old they are.

And they can also be dangerous because often someone will use some scrapper and will share their results as is, which for sure will include honeypots, fake emails, dead emails, you name it.

There are 3 ways to acquire quality leads:

1. Legally. Either by collecting them yourself through your websites or buying solo ads from quality sources.
2. If you have the skills, you can "find" them yourself.
3. Buying them from quality sources.

The first option is the hardest (if you collect your own through white hat methods) and buying solo ads can be expensive. Either of these two methods will make your life easier when it comes to actually sending out the emails. You can use any auto responder or SMTP service and make good money as long as you don't spam the crap out of your leads; although they will still kick you out sometimes even if you play by the rules, it just happens.

For option two you basically need hacking skills, which by itself is very illegal and very dangerous. But if you have the skills and want to take the risk, you can find goldmines, coupled with an effective sending method, this can be as effective as it gets.

Option 3 is the best choice in my opinion for those who don't have the time, skills, money or patience to mess with the previous options. It will still cost you money, but nothing compared to buying solo ads. You can make a very decent living if you have a good regular provider and a good sending system. The key though, is to find a realiable provider, someone who can provide quality leads that aren't shared all over the net, because even those websites selling leads are mostly selling crap, because those lists are not only available to anyone willing to pay for them, but often they're simply collected from public places. So basically, finding someone reliable is not as easy as searching Google for a leads seller.
