[HELP] Need advice on which GDPR Product is best . Do any of them provide a web page to sell services from?
[HELP] Has anyone analyzed all the GDPR offerings and rank them from best to worse.
There seems to be a new product pop up every day that replaces all the others. I am having trouble deciding which to use. And all those affiliates adding Bonuses do not help with the decision. Does anyone have a website that sells GDPR services? Usually, by now the Product creators will sweeten the pot with a functional website as part of an upgrade. I appreciate all the trouble posters go thru to provide and keep active this material. Thanks for your help. |

While comparing the various GDPR offerings would be a losing battle (more and more products are released everyday), most of the GDPR requirements are self-explanatory (from what I remember):
- Explicit opt-in for emails with easy opt-out option - Clearly indicate what data you are collecting and what it would be used for (in simple language) - Limit data collection about subscribers to a minimum - List with whom you are sharing this data and what portions f the data is being shared - Restrict the use of data to task specified - Encrypt personally identifiable data - Allow an user to delete their data - Provide mechanism to copy data in a portable format (mainly applicable to database-ish applications) If you are unable to meet some requirement, have a clear note describing the same (basically, enter at your own risk) Cheers, FFFF |

Was reminded of this nuisance today when watching a video about Dealzign - apparently the guy in it also promotes GDPR My Sites, which hasn't shown up around here (yet ??)
I really wonder now that the furor has died down is anyone with a US based business/site is taking this seriously - and if it is worth the bother to 'comply' for a US based site, perhaps some discussion may follow here to point folks in the best possible direction ??
I totally despise board spammers and spambots !!!

Typical targets for prosecution would be the large fish. However, since the law empowers citizens to redress their grievances, someone unhappy for whatever reason with a website could decide to file a complaint, thus opening Pandora's box!
Individual privacy campaigner goes after biggies Magic Button : Dated complaint statistics (after a month of the law coming into effect) Magic Button : Though the number of complaints isn't high, ultimately it all depends on luck... Technically, if a business website can be viewed from EU, the laws would apply. One way around this (if there are no EU customers) would be to geo-block anyone from the region accessing it or to get them to explicitly waive their rights if they wish to access the website (however, the latter can be deemed to be contrary to the law as given in the first link).
