I have personally tested the LOA and had also learned it was very broken long before this expose' - and that worst break (for me) is that LOA is polar in a delusional manner - but still - YMMV.

Btw. The "Universe" is just a creation of God. If I pray, I pray only to the Almighty CREATOR. Not to his Creation, Universe or Angels, higher self or so.

Having read multiple iterations of the new and old testament as well as many other pivotal religious texts in my youth.

Studying those works taught me that there was neither any SINGLE guiding text nor any ONE religion which I could ever accept as 'the answers' in this life.

By way of contrast there ARE many small bits and pieces of good answers which may be found by other studies based upon ancient works which also expose how far mankind has fallen away from his own naturally peaceful nature.

And just to be clear:
ACIM is 100% about a process of ego relinquishment.

Anyone that points to ACIM as any sort of anti-religiousness is someplace between uninformed and totally incorrect.

Such a viewpoint simply indicates a very strong ego attachment to some certain religion and/or group which likely also has many other things that such groups are endlessly condemning.

An example of the above is any fundamentalist Christian group that will viciously hate uses of the word 'Jesus' that they don't approve of, or such hate aimed any other group which refers to that same man as 'Lord Sananda'.
(And BTW, there is also an earlier edition of ACIM called JCIM - and I bet you can easily tell what the 'J' stands for ?!?)

Religious groups are exclusionary by design.
This is why there can be so many different and separate churches in any town with folks 'belonging' to this or that church.
This brings about sneering at or 'feeling sorry for' the members of any other church other than theirs.

That is essentially saying that there are many, many versions of different god creatures who ONLY give grace to THEIR chosen group - which is clearly and obviously an absurdity.

Truly - and especially in 2021 - we need there to be LESS of such hate filled stuff in this world - the hour is very late for us to work at becoming better people.

My take on it is it's a load of bollocks but it doesn't hurt to chant what you want from life but please be practical.

It won't give you $100k a year and a Bentley if you don't work or are lazy.

But I believe that you become or are what you think so always try to stay positive.

4 decades ago I sold insurance cold and I was taught to run through a sales presentation and see myself winning the deal before entering the prospect lare. It is the same as the US Basketball players and Baseball players do.

I can tell you it works but I think because in your mind you are practicing the whole thing not just the outcome of winning. Undoubtedly I gave a better presentation after practicing in my mind a few times but LOA, Nah it weren't that.

I agree with a lot of what everybody has posted here. I tend to (try) to see two sides of a situation, though, in all fairness. I believe people who are marketing New Age/Law of Attraction products tend to go with "The Universe" instead of God or Allah or any Higher Being by name because they don't want to ostracize any one segment of their "buyer base" for omitting the Creator any one group believes in. Marketers think like businessmen so that in the end, it's the dollar they're after. "The Universe" covers all bases without naming a specific god.

I agree with berlinerin. As a Christian, I pray to the Savior, the Almighty God. But I also know that not everybody on earth does.

Not only are there people who don't acknowledge, believe or worship the same God I do. Many don't acknowledge any god at all.

I was raised in a religious household (Baptist) and I know that to this very day, when talking to my own sister about LOA and I mention "The Universe," she gets a little "testy" and cuts me off, mid-sentence, with "You mean God...?!!"

So, I agree. "The Universe" is God's creation and somehow, talking to "The Universe" is --- in a way --- neglecting to give the glory to its rightful owner. The Universe wouldn't be without God --- it IS God. And that's why I'm okay with that.

Lastly, I'll say that the Law of Attraction, as I understand it, isn't that you simply chant incantations or practice positive thinking and that alone brings you every wish you ever desired. That would be a magic lantern ... and we know the only place you'll find one of those is in a children's fairytale.

Yet, some LOA practitioners strongly believe that.

People who think you can think positive thoughts but don't follow it up with any meaningful action are doing themselves (and the Law of Attraction) a tremendous disservice. And usually, they are the same people who fail to see results and subsequently give LOA a bad rap.

I believe that LOA is responsible for bringing opportunities for change. It's up to us to recognize (and act on) them.

It teaches us to look at things differently so that we don't get in our own way because it's human nature in a situation to look for whatever will go wrong instead of what will work to our favor.

Believe it or not, subtle little changes present themselves before us every single day. The decisions we make and the actions we take when those nuanced moments present themselves is what can change our lives.

Here's an example: If someone is trying to manifest a good-paying new job, in addition to practicing LOA, they would prepare (or update) their resume. Look for agencies that are hiring at that position. Send out those resumes to as many agencies as possible.

But what if he gets a request for an interview and in the preliminary phone call, he learns that this agency was not one he originally applied to? That one of the other agencies referred his application because they were impressed but didn't have an opening.

Or that this agency recently relocated and is a bit farther out of the way of his normal commute? An almost-an-hour-one-way commute? And the starting salary is less than he hoped for because this is a smaller agency but there will be opportunities to move up the ranks for more responsibility and better pay.

What would YOU do?

This is how the Law of Attraction works.

It rarely gives you a straight, unobstructed path to exactly what you wish for and whether you reach your dream is often based on the choices you make with the opportunities you get along the way.

Many of us are so weathered by life's experiences that we can't see the forest for the trees. Our minds are closed to anything but what we're most comfortable doing or being.

In other words, we get in our own way.

If change is going to happen, it's got to begin within us.

I'm not as gung-ho about LOA as I used to be but that's true for a lot of things since I'm older now. But it has nothing to do with the concept of the Law of Attraction. I still believe in it.

I have many serious objections to ANY and ALL perpetuations of patriarchy - including that of how it has ruled this planet already for thousands of years, with one of its main features being the active oppressions of women, often with their willing cooperations.

Sadly such insult to those folks' beliefs is inevitable and multiplied by the enormous number of different 'gods' whom they consider to be 'in charge' of of all our lives.

Lastly - and from a purely spiritual place:
Many of the ancient teachings which pre-date all the judeochristian and other such stuff clearly refer to 'the Universe' whilst totally omitting all mention of any dieties whatsoever.

Since very few folks ever seek out such ancient wisdom they will instead deny that it may even exist - which is totally fine as they are absolutely entitled to opine and believe whatever they choose to - even if it is in denial of actual history.

Yes the LOA is from God (Allah, Life, Universe, Higher beeing.... how one want.... :) ) The same as the other laws at our earth, like Gravitation, Polarity, many Laws..... and also visualization/imagination and others....
