Getting a Contributor tag on your profile is a joke

I saw a member's profile the other day, I won't mention their username for obvious reasons, who has been a member for over 3 years and has a rep total of only 13. He's had only 7 posts that entire time and 6 of his posts were the "thanks", "nice share" variety. The other post he provided a mirror for a share. Big deal, just one contribution in 3 years and he gets a Contributor tag on his profile.

How in the world does he deserve that tag, when I've been a member for not quite a month and have provided 35 or 40 mirrors, and have a rep of 205 and yet I don't have a Contributor tag on my profile. Being sarcastic, does it involve a toss of a coin, heads you get the tag, tails you don't? I guess the coin landed on tails for me.

all the tags on this forum are a joke. i've seen people with contributor tags share 1 thing. i've seen trusted badges on people who CANT be trusted. i've seen marketer badges for people who hasn't made didly online.

it's important not to give a shit because the badges don't matter. if they were to strip me of my contributer badge myself, i wouldn't give a shit. i like sharing and giving back to people and a badge certainly doesn't dictate who i am or define me.

in my opinion, get rid of ALL the badges. some peoples profiles look like they just came from a circus or amusement park

if any one badge deserves to be there it is the donor badges. the people who help pay to keep the forum alive. even that is unnecessary though if people are only here to recieve badges, they are here for the wrong reasons. i troll the forum and see how many people begging for their badges directly and indirectly. it's pathetic really....
