From what I can find the M4B filetype is a protected itunes thing, so how do those of us with no itunes open this, please ??

Windows Media Player will play the file. You may have to select the program (Open With..) on your computer and it may show an error message but it does play the file fine.

Great pointer !!
You see, I was reluctant to DL that 241.8 MB M4B only to find I would need to convert it, and I stripped out WMP a long time ago when I slenderized my windoze VM, BUT=>

I found a much smaller file to experiment with, here:

Sadly, my media player of choice (Light Alloy) doesn't do M4B, so just for yuks I changed that file's extension to MP4, and guess what ?!?
It opened right up and played fine in Light Alloy as with any normal audio will.

Problem solved.
