Head over to Yell.com and check out the list of niches you can find there...they literally hand you an a-z of offline markets you could be making money with today.

Now, take a niche...any niche...for arguments sake lets go with the first one...ACCOUNTANTS...

Cool so far? Right...now add your city name either at the beginning or at the end of that word...for instance Accountants Crewe.

Head to namecheap, use one of their coupon codes floating around and register a domain name using the combination above...so you have the domain name accountantscrewe.com/net/org...

It doesn't have to be Crewe...there's thousands of city's and towns or states in your country!

They key here is to install wordpress on the domain you've registered and build a local business directory on it usng our WpLocalDirectory plugin where local companies in the niche you have chosen can submit their business details for FREE. How you contact these businesses is up to you.

You can call them...or you can email them. The idea is to add as many of these local companies as you can...build the directory up by manually adding the details you find either via their websites...or via Google Places...10 will do for now!

Then you find companies that you HAVE NOT added...and you contact them...

I usually send them an email along these lines:

Hi there, We run a local [niche] directory and noticed that your business details were not listed. If you have 5 minutes spare please visit www.yourlocaldirectory.com and submit your details? It's totally free and will give you more EXPOSURE FOR YOUR BUSINESS. We'll add your company as soon as possible.

Kind Regards, Your Name.

What will happen is they will head over to your local directory, see that most of their competition is listed on it and add their companies details...these guys don't like missing out...

The real key to making this work is making sure that on your local directory you have links to some free information about various subjects that most of these companies are not aware of...

What i mean is you show them and make them aware of the problems they are facing when it comes to marketing online....and then very discreetly you also provide SOLUTIONS to those problems...

You can do this in a number of ways...provide free reports on SEO...or maybe a video tutorial on how to get listed on Google Places...you could even add some audio lessons on how mobile marketing can increase their profits...

You get the picture...

The reason this method works well is because your targeting specific LOCAL NICHES...and you're not IN THEIR FACE...like you would be if you were cold calling...i hate cold calling...IT SUCKS!

You could have a banner saying "Download Our FREE Report On How You Can Use The Internet To Increase Your [City Name] Accountants Profits"...

It's personal...it makes them pay attention...they will be interested...

I use this method to get offline clients...and it serves me very well...and i don't have to walk the streets to do it...

Now of course there's lot's of ways you can build local directories. I've used gravity forms in the past to create submission forms that post on autopilot for me...i've used wordpress directory themes...they've been okay aswell.

But, what i wanted was something that would allow me to use ANY wordpress theme, that could post the details that these companies entered into a simple to use form on complete autopilot...AND that would allow these companies to also submit special offers or coupons if they wanted to do
so...
