Actually these two things are a bit different.
The Scraper tab ( which can be found in the main software tab) will download high qualyty articles from directories/web based on the settings that you apply first and also
based on your keyword. It is very important : the first time when you want to scrape for article first go to ths Settings tab ( WAC-Xtra tab- Settings) and choose the right ones
depending on your preferences and then once saved go back to main Scrapper tab, enter your keyword and start download and the WAC will search and download articles based on your settings ( keyword, lines, paragraph....etc etc)

On the other hand..the Download tab that can be found in the Main-Research tab will download directly articles based only on your keyword ( with no other settings attached) and it will search for Simple or HTML articles but you also need to set up your preferences for this type. not doing so might result in having the program overloaded when trying to download articles and not having any references or criteria to select the articles will download them randomly which might end up in software crash/not responding status.

My advice for this one is:
-forget about google proxies and free ones. Buy a Strong Vpn account or HMA or private proxies account and i can guarantee that the you will never have problems downloading or waiting time for download too long.
with this version i never had any issues like the one you described. you just need to have a good vpn and set up the settings the right way.

there are very good tutorials on youtube, i recommend searching for the ones released by the software owners they are very simple and well explained.

I have a problem with proxies. I am not avid user of WAC, so I am OK with good public anonymous proxies. The problem si that the WAC format requires IP,port, username, password. Public proxies do not have atributes of username and password. In other words. WAC will not accept proxy that goes without username and password. How can I bypass this issue?

put in the separator ;; at the end to represent blank username and password
eg: 123.456.78.90:3128;;
to correspond to format:
ip:port;user;pass

be warned though, public proxies are really slow (as I've found out)

This is a very easy way to bypass your proxies problem

I am using this software for years and all i can say it is the best i tried yet ( very fw resources and it does do the job)

The program is called Proxifier
MEdiafire link ( my personal account ...so it's free of any viruses and bullshit)

What you will need to do is first install the software ( Profxifier) and then search the web for some alive Socks 5 http proxies
there are many websites with daily Socks 5 lists updated.

Then once found a good Socks 5 just load it into your proxifier and you're good to go. Now all connections will be filtered through proxifier-socks 5 - so you don't need to worry about nothing. Even thou it will die fast it will do the job - you will can download and execute all WAC operations with one socks 5 http proxy at the time( as i don't think it will work for you to download new content twice with the same proxy)

This is a very good method and also can be used when having a private proxy account ( it has the username/pw/ tabs and it works wery good)

If u need help with the proxifier let me know and i post some screenshots for you

I saw some youtube tutorials for Proxifier, it is good really, but seems that loading scraped proxy must be done one after another separately, there is no option to load full list from .txt or .cvs file with one click. This means that when I need to add let's say 50 proxies, putting the 40th proxy - the 1st one can be already dead.

Mate, working with proxifier is easy you don't need any youtube tutorials. what i tried to explain is that you don't need to load a list of proxies into Proxifier. As you don't need it.

You just find 5 or 10 Socks 5 Http proxies . Socks 5 are very different from the usual proxies that can be found online. they are much faster, and provide almost 100% anonymity.

Once you have your Socks 5 you load them into Proxifier one by one. Meanning:
open proxifier, go to Options:- Proxy Settings:- Add proxy settings: insert proxy address and port, check the Socks 4 or Socks 5 checkbox ( i recommend using Socks 5 ), click ok, do a G**le.com test ...see if the page loads and you are good to go. You can also use the Check tab ( it will do a test and show if your socks is alive and working)
Enter your keyword in WAC...and start downloading.

The reason that i recommended to use proxies one by one is very simple: you won't scrape like crazy 100's of articles / minute so where's the point in loading a useless proxylist which also does not give you full anonymity and also there is a risk of having your WAC stopped because of too many dead proxies?
I have a Private VPN account myself, so i could download like forever without any worries...but that does not gives me the reason not to think very well what kind of articles i want
and setup a campaign properly.
It is better to have your strategy well planned, your WAC settings setup properly and once you have your proxifier running hit the Download button.

Glad to help. I have bought the GSA myself and WAC is just amazingly useful with it. I mean you save alot of time when setting up a campaign for GSA.
BTW...look into WAC install folder for a dir named GSA: that's where WAC stores your GSA settings
