(GET) Web Based Push Notifications FOR FREE

The other day somebody recommended OneSignal to create notifications. I have given it a try and it works great. I love it and it is getting a lot more subscriptions than my email list.

You can register a free account at onesignal.com They have an easy to follow documentation but if you find it difficult you can follow these videos. This man explained also how you can get https for free with Cloudflare and it worked great too.

If you have WP in your site simply create an account and install the plugin. Follow the steps to configure Google Developers and you'll get it.

I've recently googled bbhf for this word/service (onesignal) and there is only one (your) post that is indexed at the moment :)
It's interesting why there is still no one who compared this service to other one's that are not free (push response, push leads and etc).
I've already registered an account there and started reading documentation. Looks like great!

I believe there should be dedicated topic to this awesome service since web-push notifications is very hot thing! And it's trendy! I see there are many services/plugins. And it's easy to find that you could actually create (develop) all needed things to make it work by yourself for free, though it may be not so easy to develop your own product further. That's why it could be great to test-drive free service that already did all hard work for you!
Do not think that I'm promoting this product, no-no )) I'm just happy to discover it after noticing lots of paid products. And I'm also looking forward to compare it to other products.

Alt the same time it's very interesting what information could such 3-rd party services gather about their users (us) and relevant visitors (people who will see and click our web-push notifications), what do you think? I've already discovered that some keyword research services and apps (even paid one's) gather your results.

In reality you don't need any of it. Go to this page and click the button about half way down

and up pops a notification - no third party service needed.

There is a WP plugin that does the same free W3C Push:

caveat is you need https - some of those 3rd party services might work around that.

You're absolutely right! Those marketing products not telling you that it is FREE technology and that you can use it without their service.
At the same time, they offer finished product with additional features.
Everyone should think what opportunities he need to have and decide if existing service/product is enough or maybe he need something more or even lesser.
