RE:
If they do regular updates, then it would be inconvenient to let the members first download and then upload to their WP installations. I wouldn't buy any theme that forces me to resort to FTP for an update.
Better are automatic update solutions outside the WP repository. If these are used here, we're able to extract their update links with some poking around the code ;-) Anyway - open links only alert the product owners... Hiding - by the way - does not help against indexing the links in Google. You might try the Google cache display - and voila - the links are visible to the open eye. I doubt they won't show up in Google alerts... Cheers, Johnny63 |

RE:
If they need activation or license code that nobody is willing to share, and nobody is willing to 'null' or crack..
What difference does it make if someone posts open link to software that is of no use to anyone? Currently, the software (except for the theme) is of no use unless you pay for it. In which case, that person will be able to receive the updates. Best practice.. pay for it.. then you don't have to worry about updates. |

RE:
For all you update hungry theme users:
I had a look at the theme - and it employs automatic updates through a free library. This means: Nobody needs to use FTP, or login to a members area for updates. The plugins also employ automatic updaes, but rely on server side license verification. So without a valid license, they won't update, even if nulled. Cheers, Johnny63 |
