Lots of different stuff from CodeCanyon and other big resellers has shown up with the webshell infection.

Perhaps rather than arguing and criticizing - maybe look into what the webshell infection does...how it compromises WP sites, and how it works.

If you really want some BIG appreciation, find out how to clean webshell from things, which would help everyone here very, very much !!!

This is an installable windows only app.

Have you used it somehow to remove the webshell infection yourself ??

If you did that, then shared the original, infected file here, this is baffling.

Much more likely is that your suggestion is meant as a placebo because a windows app CAN NOT prevent a problem on a server-based WP instance.

Have you got any more and perhaps more useful and helpful suggestions to make ??

Sahydian, I've been watching your wonderful thread since it 1st appeared to me in the new posts list, thank you for sharing such valuable info.

I've become specifically concerned about the many reports of webshell infections.

It seems they are present in original addons from the big addon seller's sites - but noplace have I found a 'cure' showing how to locate this extra code and remove it.

Looking into reports about webshell shows that it opens backdoors into WP servers allowing exploits to happen very easily.

I've posted my suggestions according to what I've learned at your thread.
