I think, if you you want to get direct social traffic for you doesn't matter duplicate content or not. Just create fresh website and do experiment. But if you put link to original and can mix original article with your oppinion so it will be like curation of content, and goolge love it

This looks great, but anybody know the limit of sharing pages from single domain at stumbleupon? It would really suck to get good traffic and then they suddenly terminate your account = traffic gone...
