RE:
Guys, did any of you think to check the dates on this?
How relevant is Squidoo now? I did a few of these w-a-a-y back in 2012 when she published this the first time. I read it and watched the videos, etc. It did not work that great back then, and Dow is far from being a marketing wizard. She is a freelance writer - first and foremost. Most of her income comes from PLR, which she often gives away in $1 Fire Sales when she is short a few bucks. In other words, she is a nobody. There are lots sharper people to follow. When was the last time any of you saw a Squidoo lens ranked for anything? Wanna know why? The Big G decided Squidoo lenses no longer had the authority they used to have for reasons JUST LIKE THIS. Look - BEFORE you invest lots of time, resources or effort in strategies that sound good but are near-useless. Now, Squidoo is no better than building free blogs or web sites. If you know how to drive traffic to it, you'll do great. But if you can do that, why do you need Squidoo?
You have to learn the rules of the game. Then you have to play better than anyone else. -Albert Einstein

RE:
My experience with Squidoo in 2012 is that I have a couple of them ranking highly for a few months and then Squidoo takes them down suddenly. They were all made based on their guidelines. So building sites on someone else's platform is quite risky. Others may have better experience than me on Squidoo but that's what I went thru. And as Quasar mentioned and coming to think of it, I do not see any Squidoo lens rank highly now.

Free doesn't necessarily mean good. I still build free sites but with the knowledge to accept they can become toast anytime. One has to be carefull of even sites that you build on a paid platform. Those can go Bye Bye too. Kajabi comes to mind. I am not knocking Kajabi, but just know what you are getting into. I thank you and Quasar for your post. Wise words indeed. |
