[GET] This is the Right Way to Hide Your Links
Since the moderators removed the THANKS system, it has resulted in a significant increase in speed to the forum, but at a cost.
The cost is, links are dying too quickly because most of them are not being hidden properly. The reason links are not being hidden is because forum posters are not using the code correctly. You must separate your "(hide)" and "(/hide)" code with line breaks, putting the opening hide and the closing hide on its own line. (I deliberately used parentheses instead of brackets for readability). See the examples below: [hide]This line is not hidden because the hide code is not set properly, no line breaks[/hide] Magic Button : In summary, the solution is simple: Place your opening and closing "hide" code on separate lines from your links, or your link will be exposed to all, and it will die prematurely. So you can be absolutely sure, PREVIEW your post before posting it, to check that you are hiding your links properly. For the sake of the forum, original posters, please go back to your posts and clean up your hide codes. |
