I grew up in an environment that was below average. Although my parents did the best they could and we still got by ok, all I can remember is being told we didn’t have any money to do things. Any holiday was always based upon the cheapest place we could find to go.
I remember at school I was a quiet kid who sat in the back of class, and seemed to fade in to the “background,” even though being in the “cool kids” group at school. I suffered a lot of teasing and despair because of acne skin during these years which has impacted my entire life from then on.
But I was lucky in one sense because those formative years shaped me, they gave me a lot of values like integrity, courage, and strength because I needed those, and they gave me the knowledge that if I was going to have anything, achieve anything at all, I had to do it on my own.
No one was going to do it for me.
No one owed me anything.
Everyone has their own lives to lead and no one was going to step up and handle mine.
And growing up I always felt like money, or the lack of it was the cause of all of our problems, so I made the decision early on that I wasn’t going to be poor. I became fascinated with success and what it looked like.
Somewhere along the lines I got cattle herded into the normal path, the normal order of things. Go to school, work hard, get a good paying secure job with a big company, try to save a little money, buy a house and have a happy family. So I did that for a while. But I knew that wasn’t me and that would be a limited life, a life on rails.
I still somehow managed to go through many stages of entrepreneurship early on in life. By 19 I owned my first property, which I sold only a few years later, making close to 150% return on my investment.
I then pursued a number of other entrepreneurship paths over the next few years, only to fail miserably. Learning many extremely valuable business and life lessons in the process.
You can make excuses why you aren’t where you want to be, why you’re not having the success you want. You can look to blame others, blame your genetics, blame your up bringing, blame it on your circumstances, or you can say NO!
“This is what I want, this is who I want to be, now how am I going to get it?”
The most defining moment in my life has been hustling deep in the depths of Phuket, Thailand. No plan B, just a dream and a sickening work ethic to make it happen.
Over the years, I have come to realize that the biggest missing piece to becoming successful at anything is to find great mentors and have the right people around you, who will lift your standards.
My passion for the gym and lifting weights is relentless. I am a fitness professional who loves to guide highly motivated men in transforming their bodies into one of a
spartan!
I wouldn’t do this unless I put my money where my mouth is, so I love to transform my own body entirely, through strict discipline and hard work.
I truly believe you can have or do anything you want, as long as you want it bad enough. Hard work will always win over good genetics, and I hate when people use that as an excuse.
While still only 25 years of age, I plan to travel the world for a few years before settling into anything permanent. Invite me over and I will probably say yes!
My number 1 piece of advice for anyone who wants to live a similar life is to;
“Remove yourself from the people who hold you back and get around those that will lift your standards. That will almost ensure your rise to success.”
