that's why you have to do your research before you buy your solos from someone. there are also 3 blacklists that i know of. also, the seller wants you to do well. that's why they may want to rewrite the copy or subject line. if you get bad results, it doesn't look good on them if you do a review. i don't know who you bought from to have a bad experience but it probably had to do with your own research.

also, if you don't want them to change the copy, tell them that. if they want to reserve that right, go somewhere else to buy a solo. simple as that. you have options and you make your own choices based on those options. if you have a list of 20k subscribers, it doesn't matter what the email or subject was. they made a decision to click. just because they made a decision to click doesn't mean they had to opt in. that's another deicision based on whatever your true niche was. wasted money? really? 20k list? your nuts. you don't know how to build a list or how to monetize if you think that. you also don't have to lie to your buyer. you just have to refuse to sell to them if they want to build a list in a different niche than what your list is in.

there is a statement that i heard that i tend to agree with. most people think the money is in the list and it's not. it's how you build one and what you do with it. THAT'S where the money is. if you are in to ethics here then maybe you are in the wrong business and just need to get a job because to sell something, you don't really have to be dishonest, but you do have to exaggerate the truth a little with good copywriting and sometimes you have to write copy that you don't even know is true or not(but could be)......selling an idea rather than a concept. "how to make $345 in 24 hours doing 1 hour worth of work" or "discover the simple secret method of losing 1 pound a day every day in teh next 30 days". i dare you to open a pizza restaurant and not tell people it's going to be the best pizza they ever tasted or open a coffee house and not claim yours is the worlds best cup of coffee

so my question to you is, where is the line drawn? you have a choice to write your own copy and have it sent as is in a solo. you also have the option to refuse to sell a solo to a buyer for whatever reason(usually it will be because their squeeze page doesn't compliment your list or you don't like their swipe). i dunno. you just seem nutty to me. it doesn't seem like you know what you are doing.
