RE: [GET] The Obesity Code: Unlocking the Secrets of Weight Loss by Dr. Jason Fung
Here's another 1. BTW I got these links from the mirrored.to link the OP posted. Some of these links still work!
Magic Button : On a personal note: I read this book the end of last year and it changed my life. I was struggling with my weight for a long time, tried low fat diets, WW and calorie counting. I lost and I gained back and the weight just hardly came off even with low calorie diets. Late last year I wanted to embark on another calorie counting "mission" but realized this was not the way to go. By chance I stumbled on this book and it was a real eye opener. So this is what I did after reading the book: I started with 16/8 IF and made my meals from scratch. No processed food and no sugar. I did the occasional 24 hour fast. Lowered my carb intake. Before 250 grams a day, after 100-120 gram a day. Eat no more than 2-3 times a day. Nothing between meals and that includes diet soft drinks. I lost 20 pounds and have kept them off without problem! It certainly does not feel like a struggle any more Within 2 days of doing this I noticed more energy and a flatter stomach. Before I needed to take afternoon naps like an 80 year old woman, because I was literally falling asleep at my desk! Something else I noticed: I don't need to exercise as much as I did before to gain muscle. I do weight training twice a week and power yoga 3-4 times a week. I do shorter workouts now, but gained more muscle than I ever have before in my life. I am still keeping the weight off and without effort. The main things I learned from this book: - If you graze like a cow all day, you will look like a cow. - Eating all day long to "keep up your energy levels and boost metabolism" is a blatant lie made up by Big Food. It only boosts their profits and I felt tired for years, but thought it was just me. - You body needs a break (a fast) from food, to be able to do it's job. If you're eating constantly, it will constantly produce insulin and you will get insulin resistant. - Fasting for a certain amount stimulates Autophagy, the clean up of damaged cells and replacing them with new ones. I've notice better skin and fat disappearance in stubborn area's. Look for Autophagy video's on Youtube. Dr. Eric Berg's are very good, but also others. The Obesity Code debunks a lot of myths made up by Big Food and Big Pharma that's consistently being fed to mainstream (women's) magazine and media. If you are struggling with health and weight issues like I did, I would strongly advise you read it and devise your own lifestyle plan using the info in the book! Sorry for the long ramble! I just wanted to share my story and hope it will help others! Sorry that second link seems to be reported as spam. Like I said, I got it from the link the OP posted and others may still work. |
