This is a superb idea which is entirely dependent upon a state sanctioned day.

Despite being USAns, we ignore state sanctioned hole-eee-days due to the commercializations of valid concepts to the degree of nothingness.

By way of explanation it has become obvious that this day has become just a wanton food wasting day - and then we have Xma$, wherein folks who mostly care little for one another 'make nice' for just ONE DAY.

Meh.

I would instead suggest a global Oneness day upon which as many folks as possible could aim for finding that which connects everything within themselves - with ZERO commercial anything involved.

Otherwise:
When making a 'special' meal for someone seems like its time has come - we just do it;
Gift-giving ?? Whenever the Spirit moves us in doing so;
Loving One-another ??
Restricted to as much as possible to 24/7/365 - oh wait - that is actually EVERY DAY !!

Our world suffers with things getting worse and worse due to egos hating one another in enforced separateness.

The cure is so simple - but few are brave enough to face it.

It's all about bizz money! We have all become a money making machine which can be milked at pretext of any day, marked as a special day for ex... black friday, cyber moonday, haloooween, blah blah blah......Wonder we are all becoming a mechanical machine!!!!
