[GET] Sources for Downloading FREE eBooks!
UPDATE --- My Forum Friends Provided Additional E-book Download Sites! I highly recommend you check them out in post #s 30, 34, 42 and 49! SOURCES FOR DOWNLOADING FREE E-BOOKS! E-books ... e-books ... everybody loves e-books! While looking for a few new sources for downloading quality e-books for FREE, I came across an online article listing some of the better sites for doing just that. So, I summarized the content to share with you. I also added a few extras for good measure. Here is the original source (article): Magic Button : And here is the meat-and-potatoes you can use NOW to find tons of ebooks... manybooks.net - With its collection of over 33 thousand ebooks, manybooks offer readers the advantage (whereas BookZZ doesn't) of choosing to read a book directly on your computer browser. openlibrary.org - this site claims to have "one web page for every book ever published." There are over 20 million books to date and new books are added regularly. smashwords.org - mainly indie (independent) authors and readers who are fans of independent publishers centslessbooks.com and hundredzeros.com - both feature books available for free on Amazon.com feedbooks.com - a great collection of ebooks, both free and paid bookboon.com - good collection of educational books goodreads.com/ebooks - generally well-known as a great cataloging site, it's ebook section is a lesser-known area for finding quality, free ebooks projectguttenberg.org - this site boasts over 53 thousand books; mainly English classics such as Pride and Prejudice and Shakespeare, for example. At Project Guttenberg, you can also search by Most Downloaded Books or the Top 100 Books and Authors to streamline your search to the most popular titles and authors overdrive.com - is a digital version of the trusty old brick-and-mortar library. As such, you will need a library card to access the site's contents but once you sign up and input your information, you can borrow ebooks and audiobooks from ANY participating library. After seeing that article, I decided to add a few more sources ... a few of which I've used to find great books to share on the forum. So here is the lagniappe (that's an old creole Louisiana word that means "something extra" if you're not familiar with it): 2020ok.com - this is a mass directory of free online books and free ebooks. Their massive collection boasts categories like art, photography, spirituality, science, mystery and thrillers, etc. ebook3000.com - this site says it has the best free ebook download library. It's an open directory for free ebooks with download links. free-e-books.net - here, in addition to free e-books to download, you will find magazines, too! You can even submit your own e-book. For this site, you need to become a Free-Ebooks.Net member to access their library. I'm not sure if there is a fee for membership but check 'em out! {{{Blocked by Omni Potens, reason: reports from LEGIT GB STARTER}}}.org - formerly bookzz.org, this site boasts more than 2.7 million books available to download. It is the self-proclaimed "world's largest library" and has almost all the books you can think of. You will find some of the most recently available book titles here. It is my absolute GO-TO site for some of the most interesting, useful e-books ever! You can download some books for free but after a certain number per day, you will be asked to pay ... I know I was asked to buy a gift card from Amazon.com ($25, $50 or more, your choice) to continue with unlimited access to the site and downloads for a period of 30 days or more. The more you pay, the longer you have unlimited access. I purchased a $25 gift card and had 30 days access. To renew after 30 days (no auto renew available) just purchase another $25 gift card. There is information on the site and they show you a link and give instructions on how to submit the card to them via email. Great site with a lot of great e-books. Layna's Note: I include this information at Post #41 below but I'll save you the trouble of scrolling down there. If you visit {{{Blocked by Omni Potens, reason: reports from LEGIT GB STARTER}}}.org and want a list of categories to browse, here's the link to the Categories listing: Magic Button : getfreeebooks.com - download e-books totally free ... all e-books are legal to download for free. pdfbooks.co.za - over 4,700 ebooks to download! planetebook.com - like Project Guttenberg, you will find classic books here. pdfgenie.com - this is a dedicated PDF search engine for e-books, information hot sheets, forms and other documents. This sounds like an interesting site and I definitely plan to visit here. pdfoo.com and pdf-downloads.net are similar sites if you prefer PDF formatted documents. witguides.com - an online source for a wide range of useful ebooks that are completely free to download. No need to sign up or buy anything! ======= A SPECIAL NOTE
Please see additional links in Post #42 below. Be sure to rep and/or thank GordonShumway as he provided these links from his own collection. He asked me to include them in the original post but I could not make it work with copy/paste. ======= As with any advice I share, I need you to be careful to protect your computer. When downloading from unfamiliar sites, always be sure your anti-virus program is updated and running. You most probably won't find anything nasty in these downloads but it's best to be safe than sorry. If you get any re-directs or pop-unders or any strange behavior during downloads, close the window and run your A-V program immediately. And while I'm dispensing advice, let me also say I don't know how old some of these books are. If you go to classic sites like Project Guttenberg or others, you can expect to download books with long-ago copyrights. Otherwise, keep in mind the subject matter of the book and whether the copyright date will affect the information inside. For example, a book written/published in 1970 about something that has changed since then would not be as valuable today. Don't waste your time downloading out-dated ebooks. On the other hand, some topics are evergreen and no lapse in time will impact the value of the information. I also don't know which format most of these ebooks are in. Personally, I have not yet used most of these sites since I just read about them in the article. If you prefer ebooks in PDF instead of the mobi, epub and other formats most freebie ebooks come in, you can use any online converter to make the switch. Sometimes these work flawlessly; other times you get errors or a message that the book cannot be converted. One online converter I used a lot before I purchased one (that works even better) is epubconverter.com. As I said, there are others. Just Google "epub converter" and take your pick. If you have the funds and want a desktop ebook converter that works like magic (it even converts Amazon Kindle's AWZ format) and renders the book in PDF format in seconds ... with no errors! This gem is the ePub Ultimate or ePubor Ultimate. You can try it for free but it is a paid product. I absolutely love it! Just Google ePubor Ultimate and follow the link. It is one amazing product! So, that's it! Perhaps, some of you will be familiar with these sites; others, not so much but with 22 sites, you should be able to find something of interest. If this information helped you, I'd appreciate it if you added a rep to me for the share. for reading and enjoy the share. Layna61524 |

RE: [GET] Sources for Downloading FREE eBooks!
FRACK ME! - I thought I had a decent list of eBook sites... Well, now I do!
Never understood why more people don't leave reps when they find something of value on here. I know that for every single post I have gotten something from, I leave rep points. Takes a total of about 3 seconds to do it... Hard for some of you to do that I guess.... Get a download of high value and can't take the time to spend 3 seconds to thank the person that did all the work of finding it for you.... Anyway, looks like I got me some reading to do! Awesome Layna61524 Cheers, G.S. Consistency builds momentum... And that’s how dreams become a reality.
