RE: [GET] Roger and Barry – Give Academy 1k/Day Platinum Mastermind - UPDATE 2 16-10-2015
Ok guys - forum member bigdaddy had said something a few pages back about using this thread also as a discussion for the methods in this program, experiences, ideas, etc. I've finally had a chance to go through the whole thing, as well as go through most of the original eCom Experts Academy course.

(Am also considering getting in on the Physical Product System GB...not sure yet.)

I will say that I don't have an ecom background (all my time has been spent selling my own self-branded info products), but here are some thoughts I've had, as well as an overall model that I think could work really well.

I know everyone is different, but personally, I don't want to be the ecom / physical products godfather here or whatever. I know that guys that are doing six-figures/month are doing it with a lot of stores, have their own warehouses, and all that. I honestly have no desire to go any of that route.

Yet, I think you could still make a really good living, make it sustainable, and actually (in the grand scheme of things) do it with a lot less ad spend than you might think.

Now to address the Give Academy initial processes:

I'm torn on going with clickfunnels vs straight to shopify. I could easily see where prospects would see a clickfunnels landing page and think it's not legit. I did some giveaways / contests a while back using similar very bland landing pages ("Enter your email to qualify for a free tub of *insert workout supplement here*" type stuff) a while back and while the squeeze page converted Ok, it didn't do great. And the lead quality was usually pretty lousy.

Something Justin in eCom showed was that he'd run an ad to a clickfunnels LP, get the email, then redirect to shopify post opt-in.

The only thing (as bigdaddy pointed out) this leaves out of the equation is the one-click upsell.

So you don't have the chance to make as much on the FE. However, if you end up going directly all to shopify in the end, you're eventually gonna eliminate this, anyway.

Seems like an almost "six to one, half dozen to the other" kinda thing from a 30,000-foot view perspective. Clickfunnels LPs allow you to offer the one-click upsells. However, take rates on the sales in general might not be as high b/c the pages don't (necessarily) look as "legit" as a storefront does.

Would be interested to hear anyone's experiences / thoughts on this.

I know there are upsell apps you can use in shopify, but I've read more than once that they end up hurting conversions more than anything.

As an aside, I did notice conflicting info in the Give Academy recommendations - he says in the clickfunnels LPs that you should be up front about your s/h when your item is free. But then in the shopify training, he says not to put that in the listing, but make 'em actually have to go through the checkout process to see the s/h charges. So I dunno which would be better.

(Of course you should be up front about s/h in the ads either way.)

After that, I think the real secret sauce is in the back-end.

Personally, I think you go into a niche. Build out a store that's got 12-15 very low-ticket offers. At least 1/3-1/2 of them should be heavily passion-based.

Then put another 12-15 moderate to high-priced items in the store.

After that, you have a subscription newsletter - think $4.95-7.95/month.

Run ads ONLY to your best / highest converting free + shipping or 1-cent + shipping offers. These should convert the best / easiest, allowing you to buy your customers as cheaply as possible. Ideally, you're making a few bucks on the FE transaction, but as long as you're breaking even.

When someone becomes a customer, they're automatically added to your email list. Program your autoresponder to go out (say) 3x/week. Every email is broken down into 3 sections:

Section 1 = a low ticket item that you give a discount coupon for to get for free or 1-cent if they pay shipping. These are only in your store for the purpose of being free or 1-cent + shipping offers. If anyone actually pays full-price, then that's just gravy.

You make the code perpetual so it works within your autoresponder and it doesn't matter when your customer comes on board. But tell 'em in the email that the code is only good for 24 hours.

Section 2 = a medium or high(er) ticket item that you give a discount coupon code to get 10-30% off. Treat the code the same way you do for the freebie in Section 1.

Section 3 = a CTA to go to content on your actual site. Create an info-based landing page that pre-sells your monthly subscription newsletter. Your newsletter can be delivered once/month via pdf and either can be new content you have created or simply just curate articles from around the web. Don't half-a$$ this - make it a lot of information such that customers would be crazy to unscubscribe. In every newsletter, include a review of at least 1-2 affiliate products, and place other text-based affiliate links / CPA offers throughout the .pdf.

To increase stick rate, you could offer a monthly giveaway to newsletter subscribers - one of your moderate / high-priced items or whatever.

Rotate through your 12-15 low ticket items and your 12-15 medium / high ticket items, one per email until you've gone through 'em all. At 3 emails/week, this is 4-5 weeks of emails. Then just start over again.

Keep putting up new content at your site that can run as landing / presell pages for your continuity newsletter.

Program this out as far as you want - 60-90 days or whatever.

Drop ship everything.

You can rather easily monitor which products sell / don't sell well from your emails, but it honestly doesn't matter (aside from maximizing revenue) b/c if you're doing it right, everyone getting your emails was added to your list for free or you made money on them becoming customers. Everything they do on the back-end is free $$$ - which is why you offer discount codes on everything every email.

Even if people aren't overly interested in spending big $$$, many of 'em should end up taking you up on your free + shipping offers. And if you keep giving them good content on your site (and it's a passionate market), you also should eventually get a bunch of them on your continuity program.

On the plus side, it's keeping your ad spend less overall b/c it's only on testing out / maximizing free + shipping offers, not to mention you're minimizing the number of campaigns you have to manage b/c you're only running traffic to a few items in your store as opposed to almost everything or whatever.

Anyway...that's the plan I put together and plan on executing.

Glad to hear any thoughts / discussion / experiences / whatever.

I've experimented with the clickfunnels lp set it...it works...I made money with it. It's good for I say testing offers to see what would work...once you find a winner..then run traffic straight to your shopify...but really...I think the clickfunnels set is stupid lol....It should in my opinion only be used it...if you have a niche store already and want to promote random offers.

It just makes more sense to drive traffic directly to your shopify, if you have it pixeled up..you'll capture the traffic either way, there are ways to capture the email via pop ups and so on. I guess it's kind of a way for noobs to get their feet wet. It's cool. True the one click upsell is missing but if you have collections in your shopify store and show whats available...people will buy regardless. You bring X amount of people to the store, x amount are going to buy your discounted order...a certain percentage will look around and buy other shit....those buyers will be added to your list and from there you can promote till they buy again

RE: [GET] Roger and Barry – Give Academy 1k/Day Platinum Mastermind - UPDATE 2 16-10-2015
Good thoughts on this, guys! Wow!!
Thanks for your contributions here. Me likey. :)

Everyone is really pushing ClickFunnels and Shopify, because they're excellent platforms.

But what about Wordpress using Woocommerce plugin??
Isn't this a potentially viable alternative?

I know Clickfunnels and Shopify are great because you have some advanced features AND you can set them up relatively quickly. But couldn't you do the same with Wordpress?

Just asking. Does anyone know for sure??

Thanks and keep it going,
BigDaddy

RE: [GET] Roger and Barry – Give Academy 1k/Day Platinum Mastermind - UPDATE 2 16-10-2015
I tried free giveaway method but im using TeespringX for it (its self hosted platform from the guy who made teeprofit course) and run ads in the beginning when i started. The giveaway page results depend heavily on niche too.
Anyway, i had initial resultst that i wanted with it and now running standard fb ad to a product page, two to three ads to 2-3 best products.Would recommend starting out with more then 20 products in the shop since it wont look empty to people visiting it,and run 1 ad first :)
