I know you're a long-standing member and a quick observation for you because of that.

If you want to ask people to Rep you BEFORE you share or if you have a condition attached to a share e.g. people need to comment, there's a section for that I believe.

So it's not against the rules per se unless the demand for reps or comments is being made in the section where shares are supposed to be openly given.

May I ask you a question? What is the benefit of rep by the way? Why do so many people here hungry for rep? They always say like "I will give you the course for free if you give me rep and comment. If you don't, go away". In my opinion rep is the symbol of gratitude that you give to the OP for his/her generosity, right? or there's something more? Just asking

@cutepanda - Reps are nothing more than Brownie Points and don't add up to a hill of beans in the real world. It just looks really cool on your profile. Much like the way all the ribbons on a grizzled war vet look cool on a dress uniform. It has its place but you can't pay bills or buy beer and groceries with 'em.
