Not sure how this rumor got started that direct mail isn't working. Probably internet gurus and their idiot followers parroting the same nonsense over and over.

The best advice I can give anyone is to ignore the gurus and learn from PROVEN copywriters and direct marketers, especially the old masters. Everything you need is in the copywriting section.

Almost 100% of the so-called top gurus, Frank Kern, Mike Filsaime, Andy Jenkins, Jeff Walker, Russel Brunson, etc.. ALL use direct mail.

Most will tell you it's their #1 profit making media channel.

They were all taught by Dan Kennedy. You collect as much data as possible.

First you only get their email to send a Freemium product.

Then you get them to a webinar and ask for their name and phone number via GTW.

Then you offer a Free book but customer pays for S&H which you will then have all their data.

Now the real marketing takes places.

When a prospect gets "touched" by you via the internet, email, direct mail, phone, webinars, teleseminars, in person, etc.. they will buy from you like hotcakes.

It's very Simple to make money, most are looking for short cuts or have no clue what a real Process really looks like.

yes, postcards do work, just like flying a plane, you just have to know how... js
remember this, you need a postcard that will catch the eye of the reader
also, shop around for printers, you want to pay as little as possible when dealing with bulk printers, stay away from the ones who charge too much money... depending on your area, if you shop around you may be able to find a cheap bulk printer that will save you a lot of money in the long run, experienced postcard printers should be able to give you free advice as well, always ask

on another note, my printer does flyers really cheap, just pennies each in bulk.. plus i have a few people working for me who deliver those flyers door to door in areas that is still allowed, i actually resell this service to some offline clients for an extra profit, i am actually doing this in 3 different cities right now... in one area, for one niche, i could not find any advertisers, so what i did was, i still distributed the flyers as usual, but this time i send the leads to a website i set up to collect the leads, and i am reselling the leads, some of you know, in some niches a real lead can be worth some good money to a local business.... and all that actually costs less than mailing postcards, but only if you are dealing locally, be advised, some areas do not allow you to hand deliver flyers!

wow I was just born in the nineties :) and nice to read a good discussion like this and true here in Italy the mailboxes are always full especially leaflets of large chain stores sometimes they are so full that fall to the ground
a good compromise 50% would send a postcard and 50% of email
