[GET] New tool to find tons of trending keywords
Hello everyone!
We are currently building an advanced Scraper/Search interface for Google Trends and have just released the first Open Beta version: http://www.termchase.com TermChase lets you quickly find and analyze trending terms according to criteria such as Term, Topic, Country, First Mention Date and a "Trendiness" score calculated by the system. All the factors can be used on their own or in combination. - Score: is a value between -200 and 200 that measures the growth/decline of the search interest over the last 7 days for a specific term (it also takes into account some other factors). Terms with a score >30 have shown a clear growth in the last couple of days. When you set the score to 20 for example, you will only get terms with a score of 20 or more. - Minimum topic relevance: the higher the value, the more closely will the resulting terms be related to the selected topic - Minimum country interest: the higher the value, the more search queries (compared to the total number of queries) must originate from the selected country so that a term is shown While the score is calculated by our platform based on the timeseries chart, topic relevance and country interest are provided by Google Trends. TermChase improves on Google Trends's limited search capabilities and provides a convenient way of listing large number of terms together with their corresponding trend charts for the last 7 days and for all time history (2004-now). The following screenshot shows a number of trending recipes: Another use case could be "What is" questions: How does it work? TermChase scrapes Google Trends in an attempt to find keywords that have shown a recent growth in search interest. It is currently adding/updating 35'000 terms per day. However, we are planning to increase scraping speed to several 100'000 terms a day or even more. Another planned feature is to show the absolute search volume for each term. We hope that you will like TermChase and would highly appreciate any kind of feedback. If you see any bugs or request a new feature, just make a post in this forum or PM me. Have fun! |

We are planning to add a feature that would let you suggest the scoring period and allow you to focus on very recent trends as well. Though we first have to figure out how to implement it in a way that doesn't require too much computing power to calculate the trendiness factor. |

RE: [GET] New tool to find tons of trending keywords
I agree about the custom time period feature. I don't know how much resource or cost demanding hourly updates will be, but I think you should start with daily increments at least [offer the ability to select time period in days].
If you're planning to market this to the general public, I would also suggest a very detailed series of help articles, videos, faqs, whatever you can afford. You know this already, for a tech tool to be adopted by a wide customer base, they need a lot of help understanding the benefits. Good luck, and lots of success, guys! 5+ more REPS from me for sharing this one! |

Thank you for the useful feedback. Do you think that this tools offers a real benefit over the standard Google Trends UI? I think it makes keyword research it much easier if you are looking to get new ideas. However, as you say, it's not easy to convey the advantages to a broader public and we probably should make it much clearer with examples and case studies. If anyone has good ideas in this respect, don't hesitate to PM me. I'm looking to hire people for SEO consulting/copywriting to improve the tool. |
