I made a serious bit of money when I was 18 selling info via classified ads. After a few years of amazing success I sold the business. I "retired" for 4 years learning to write for a living. I figured info marketing was just writing - so go for the big leagues. (Imagine hysterical laughter...) I was young, what can I say?

(I can give you a 4 year education in 1 minute on how to make a terrific living writing (though very frustrating at times).

Write at least an hour. Every day. There are so few who can actually do that - you can get all the work you want in whatever category they need content in...) And then remember to value yourself. If you don't, nobody will (especially those you work for).

I ended up writing some scripts for the screen, some parts used by self-aclaimed "betters", others trashed. I found great opportunity in tweaking other scripts from terrible writers who just had the right political connections with Hollywood. Worked on 24, Nip/Tuck, couple of different CSIs, The Shield, and less known vehicles. A lot of formula. Anyone here who can write a decent 500 word article could have done exactly what I did. No-- better -- because I was constantly criticized for screwing up their formula. Silly me, I wanted it to make some sense.

Like many here, I've been "around" the internet since it began. I saw IM promoting from the mid 90's. The one thing that stuck with me was an early promotion in the late '90's where a promoter built up a list from a marketing website, wrote to the list for a full year before making a time-sensitive big ticket offer. He made more than $150K in a couple hours, and $200K more within a day. All viral/free advertising. (Today those numbers can be done with one medium sized launch on JVZ00. The concept of get their attention, give value first, and offer "bigly" (works for Trump...) will always work.)

I never forgot that. When I walked out on my gig in Hollywood after a ridiculous demand-- I moved to Oregon and did exactly what I had seen done personally by the promoter mentioned above. And now, blogs were available. And autoresponders.

I posted some valuable articles (showing authority) on important niche sites, helped out some "name" IMers with copy - and got endorsements, wrote EVERY DAY on my blog -- and offered my contact email (I didn't use an autoresponder until I replaced my income...) I built a list of 2K in six months and made a time-sensitive big ticket offer. Made 93K in 24 hours.

After a month, I figured that these guys would be interested in a membership only group. I was right. 132 are currently active. Good for 100K a year, just being me.

Have I gotten instruction/guidance from others? He!! yes! I needed help setting up a membership site. So I signed up for 3 memberships sites to get ideas how to emulate their process. And outsourced the work.

Copywriting is evergreen. But there are nuances that can change effectiveness as technology changes. So I spend about $20K for copywriting/advertising courses every year, and travel to see key players (and get business deductions) to stay on the front end of opportunity.

The takeaway of all this. Observe what actually works. Emulate it. Test until it works as well or better for you. Enjoy life.

This is a death planet. No one who has been born here has ever gotten out alive.

Just tried my Mega link.... Works great. I tried it on all 3 computers, an Apple, old XP, a Win10, all work.

Maybe your internet provider is locking out certain content. Or, try another computer??
