RE: [GET] MMO list for a newbie ??
Hi Feefiefohfum, and thanks !!
I am always wary of stuff filled with fluff that sets off my BS'o'Meter, but I enjoy this place too much to avoid all the parts which are open to non-VIP folks like myself.

Still have FF, but seldom use it at all anymore - mostly I use K-Meleon Pro - which is a spinoff of it, but has not been Chrome-ized and does not have that function included yet.
(My old FF used to have an extension like that, but I've forgotten what it was...sorry.)

When there is something that is kind of chrome-only (as mega and too many sites now are), I just use that instead - though I do loathe using it almost as much as I loathe mega because of how often stuff from there just quits when 1/2 way done...Grrrr !!!

Here's how I grab stuff like what is shared here:
If you get the Printliminator bookmarklet - remove the excess stuff/graphics - apply print style, then send it to your PDF printer driver - it makes for a very nifty way to keep and read it easily again at your leisure.

Here's the Printliminator bookmarklet code:
Code:
javascript:(function(){function%20loadScript(a,b){var%20c=document.createElement('script');c.type='text/javascript';c.src=a;var%20d=document.getElementsByTagName('head')[0],done=false;c.onload=c.onreadystatechange=function(){if(!done&and(!this.readyState||this.readyState=='loaded'||this.readyState=='complete')){done=true;b()}};d.appendChild(c)}loadScript('http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.3.2/jquery.min.js?ver=1.3.2',function(){loadScript('http://css-tricks.com/examples/ThePrintliminator/js/printliminator.js',function(){printlimator()})})})()
Source:
http://marklets.com/Printliminator.aspx

I also use printwhatyoulike.com - and when all else fails, just the browser's own save as or view source mode - then I can always clean up messy pages with a local editor if the messes bug my eyes too much !!
Thanks
(+Rep added, of course.)

RE: [GET] MMO list for a newbie ??
Thanks, Smithnowt!

Hmm, I gotta start visiting the other sections more.

K-Meleon? I haven't heard that name in a loooong time. Didn't even know the project was still active. I see they've decided to stay away from the browser bloat-wars. Me likey! Happydance

Chrome sends more data than I could feel comfortable to the alphabet soup company. Had tried the version supplied by Comodo a while back, but then decided to stick to FF. K-Meleon Pro is an interesting possibility I have to try.

I've "bookmarkleted" the code. Thx.

I too use text editing (in Notepad++) as the last resort, but use Composer Mode in Seamonkey to chop as much as possible before diving in. The html tag view gives decent control, but I've had problems with some pages where it literally gets a mind of its own :-)

K-Meleon Pro (which is not well known) makes things even faster and better - it is a Mozilla derivative that has been very nicely customized.

Yeah, I remember 300 baud days too. Big whoop.

I do get annoyed by members trying to dictate what a forum should be because they don't feel it meets their self-prescribed concepts.

There are geniuses here and there are idiots here. You and I probably fall somewhere in the middle.

I completely plead guilty to having a very very thin dermal layer when it comes to people whining about not getting reps for sharing.

That just tells me they don't have the slightest idea what 'sharing' means.

Mostly, they seem to confuse it with TRADING. Giving something...and getting something in return.

Second to that is someone with 0-25 reps bumping a 4, 5, 6, or 10 year old thread to begging FOR A RE-UP.

OK, that's probably enough for you to snark about.

I gotta get back to giving reps to people who don't ask for them.

Thanks for replying ArnieAbrams.
Very cute (at least the english part), and BTW:
I've been using forums since 300bps acoustic dialup and they were called BBSs.

No matter what you call them - the central thing CAN BE folks actually discussing stuff with one another - even if its just saying hello or thanks.
PS:
I only speak and read english and BAD english and since typed words do not convey inflection or tone beyond the imagination of writer or reader - clever, snarky stuff often gets lost in black and white.
I don't suffer fools gladly, but I will gladly make fools suffer.

Thank you, Smithnowt. That'll save me (and others interested in a compact browser which does not try to be a jack of all trades) time and effort.
