[GET] How to Remove Nextlnk2.com Re-Directs in Your Browser As A Result of Downloading Through Zippyshare Links
How to Remove Nextlnk2.com Re-Directs in Your Browser
As A Result of Downloading Through Zippyshare Links

When you download a file by way of a Zippyshare link, you may notice that your browser behaves wildly ... not always, but often enough that it has become a problem.

I wrote a post earlier that I am now using Malwarebytes running in the background as I browse and it lets me know each instance where some unwanted page is trying to load in the background. Some re-direct I didn't ask for designed to do things to my browser and my computer without my consent.

This happens consistently when I am downloading from Zippy. And the culprit is a site called www.nextlnk2.com. It's loads adware and is designed to show ads from paying clients.

Harmless enough ... right?

Well, it does more than that. According to an April 19, 2017 blog post at myantispyware.com, it re-directs your browser to all kinds of crap sites you didn't ask for. Sometimes, even porn-related (which could be a problem if you didn't seek those sites).

But wait! There's more...

These adware sites could have a negative impact on how your computer functions because it modifies the settings, generates tons of ads, slows down your browser speed as well as the speed of your internet connection.

The re-directs can go to pretty scary pages like this one...

Of course, your computer isn't really infected but the average person seeing this screen will freeze in their tracks. Especially when they realize they cannot close the browser. It's all a fake-out, designed to get you to call the number and pay hundreds of dollars to get your computer browser back when all you need to do is hit Ctrl+Alt+Del to get to your Task Manager and find the open browser in the running processes and delete it. That closes the browser and usually, there is nothing wrong with your computer (but you'd be smart to run a quick virus scan anyway).

In some extreme cases, really malicious adware could load invasive programs like a key logger that "records" and transmits your every key stroke so that someone halfway around the world could detect your banking details (the site where you bank, your account number, and the amount of your deposits, etc.), the content of your emails and more.

In the last few years, major data breaches that expose millions of people's private details have been commonplace in the national news. Some of them by the very entities that should better safeguard this data (banks and credit reporting agencies).

It's bad enough that the companies we do business with routinely share our privacy details with third party entities (and the onus is on you to opt out when it should be just the opposite).

As technology improves, these intrusive programs get smarter.

Crooks are no longer working behind phone banks to con you ... they've gone high-tech.

You have to protect yourself. Enough is enough!

If you're sick and tired of all this crap-ware invading your computer and want to put a stop to it, this article may be just what the doctor ordered.

Chances are very good that if you download from Zippy links, it's there.

Again, I don't want to sound like an ad for Malwarebytes but it's by far the best defense I've found for keeping this annoying and potentially dangerous application (nextlnk2) that masquerades as benign adware completely at bay.

Download a free trial and see how you like it. You may even find it shared here but do your due diligence and virus-check it; particularly any crack or patch files tucked deep inside the archive that may be missed by VirusTotal.com.

RE: [GET] How to Remove Nextlnk2.com Re-Directs in Your Browser As A Result of Downloading Through Zippyshare Links
Zippy randomly puts two overlay screens using CSS. If you can view and edit the CSS you can simply delete them and get to the actual download links.

On Firefox, you'll see the URL in the status bar. If it's a zippy link, you're good to go.
if it's something like http :// p232207.clkcln.com/..., then you want to right click and select inspect element.
You'll see two entries starting with the above. Just delete both.
Then you'll find the button has the actual download link.
Hope that makes sense...

If you don't have firefox, then you'll have to figure out how to get to the CSS to edit it.

Also...using ABP seems to block all the excess crud completely; at least it does so for me.
I totally despise board spammers and spambots !!!

ghostery block all unnecessary pop-ups, even if new window opens it doesn't load and can be closed easily.

The best way is to use AdBlock+ and Eset Nod 32 Antivirus.

And you will be safe from threats...

Yes, I love Ad Blocker Plus! I'm not familiar at all with Ghostery but will certainly give it a look-at. Sounds interesting.

Thanks, fellows.

RE: [GET] How to Remove Nextlnk2.com Re-Directs in Your Browser As A Result of Downloading Through Zippyshare Links
Thanks for publishing this info.

This is how I handle the problem with nextlink2.com

I always use a right click to open and NOT left click.

When nextlink2.com pops up i just close it down before it completely open.
This happens 1 or 2 times but finally, the file does download when using right click.
Yes, this is annoying but I have not noticed any other problems with the system.

Thanks

Joe
