Mushrooms are yummy and make for great foods too, so=>
I'd just loooove to be able to do this, really - and would like to share some info and words of caution for anyone similarly interested here...

You know how dandelions have those puffballs that float and fly everywhere ??

It is important to note that cultivating mushrooms involves a phase in which they also release lots of something like that - only it is more like a sort of very light dust that can pretty much get into everyplace.

Why does this matter ??
Some folks cannot easily handle exposure to that and especially if they already have any respiratory concerns like allergies and/or asthma - it can send them to a hospital VERY quickly !!

Growing mushrooms indoors can also be highly complicated for anyone living in any structure with any lingering molds hiding in it - which can easily get merged into the mushrooms' breeding cycle and produce undesirable and even dangerously different crops.

This makes isolation and sterility very high priorities when doing this hobby.

Space is also a concern - as well as the type of heating/cooling used.

In a small apartment, isolation can be very problematic - but then living with any sort of HVAC that moves hot/cold air around, the needed isolation becomes nearly impossible.

So:
For anyone living in a tiny apartment...
Maybe with forced air HVAC and...
Maybe folks with asthma, and especially IF...
That house has as a known, moldy basement=>
This hobby choice becomes a total no-no.

Recommendation:
Look deeply into this hobby before doing it so as to avoid possibly serious complications.
