NOTE: The e-book cover says New and Revised Edition but the copyright says 1981/1987; besides, the concept of "finder's fees" is as old as the hills as a business model and probably hasn't evolved much over the decades. So, please take from these resources what you feel still applies but much of it will have seen its heyday. That's not to say that some of the practices can't be applied to modern business practices but be sure to get or create a solid contract to be sure you get your just due in any arrangement.

"DEAL-MAKING COURSE"
AKA Contract Commander

I was looking through some downloads on an older external drive today and found Contract Commander. This course was created by Amin Sadak and primarily marketed in the spring of 2017.

To be clear, I am not here to review or otherwise "judge" the content.

I have heard mixed reactions about it from past GB participants. There are mixed assessments of it online, as well. I am not interested in this type of enterprise, so I can't give you my opinion.

What I will say is that while something like this is a legitimate and commonly practiced in business and is a service in moderate-to-high demand, it most likely isn't as easy to do or as highly profitable as the marketer makes it sound. At least, unless you have lots of very good contacts and some experience or training.

Also, it takes a certain amount of business "moxy" to be able to sell the terms of a contract to a contact that is reluctant to the terms. Maybe this is covered in the course but it's not something you can teach.

It takes a certain amount of being a natural-born "wheeler-dealer" who doesn't squirm at taking NO for an answer.

In other words, just anybody working from home with no prior contacts or experience in negotiation would likely make big money doing this on a consistent basis.

Add to this the ease of connecting with people and companies in today's digital landscape.

What's to stop someone from refusing your connections just to stiff you out of the finder's fee then, behind your back, connect with the same connection again directly to do business?

I'm not trying to play Devil's Advocate --- just giving you two ways to look at it so you can see both the PROS and the CONS.

WHAT IS THE COURSE ABOUT?

As simple as I can make it, this is a course about profiting from "finder's fees" (percentages of the total sum of successfully arranged contracts) you earn as a go-between or "finder." You bring two or more parties together to complete a desired arrangement and once all the Is are dotted and the Ts are crossed, you make a "fee" and the parties conduct their business.

This can be done on a smaller (regional/country) or larger (international/worldwide) basis.

I just refreshed the Contract Commander share with an Icedrive download link.

Everyone I PMed that link to prior to posting it on the forum has now positively confirmed that it works and that the files open and operate as they should. So Icedrive has been a blessing for me in a crunch.

I have also gotten great forum cooperation with two mirror links so this share should last a moment to give everyone who wants it the opportunity to download it.

That being said, I urge you also to consider that the fancy term "finder's fees" is simply money you get for a referral if/when the deal goes through. In that regard, much of the content in the course is good but you may need to update or modify parts of the course for 2021 that may not work in current practices.

I have sent a PM to everybody who posted to this thread as well as to everybody who repped me for the share. Then, I updated the OP with the new, working download link for the Contract Commander file.

Just a note...

I just got a PM from a forum friend who confirmed that the download link and the extracted files are all working as they should.

He also confided that the owner of Contract Commander doesn't even support this method (translated: he doesn't sell it) anymore. Yet, I suppose he's leaving his DCMA takedown notice up to keep others from getting it.

I am posting this message so that others here will understand that "finder's fees" (as they were done back in the day) is all but a bygone business model. That's not to say you can't make money from putting a buyer and seller together if you know what you're doing but in today's evolved business climate, with everybody having access to the internet, businesses taking advantage of social media and other communications platforms, it will be more challenging than ever to bring two parties together to collect a fee when it's so easy to find partners, suppliers, etc. on one's own. Unless you get assurances up front and write an iron-clad contract, this business isn't for the faint-of-heart.

My advice: Take what you can from the course and apply it however it can be used to benefit your existing business plan but don't believe the hype in the sales letter. Unless you have a lot of business savvy, a knack for writing contracts and a lot of useful contacts looking for partners or buyers, I'm just not convinced that this model alone will make you a consistent, sizeable income.

In fact, it's just the opposite. It will be dog-eat-dog.
