People will pay you if you produce better results than they do themselves...

Most businesses don't work their list. Those that do, don't do it very well. Typically they notify everyone of their latest sale which is already advertised in the local paper and everywhere else. They never test anything or do little testing.

If you send out an exclusive offer, only to their existing clients, using a pretested sequence, you can multiple the response ten fold or more. If you segment their list you can do even better...

Haven't looked at this WSO, so can't say if it's worthy or not, but I'd say what you describe is one of the easiest ways of making money and one of the easiest to sell.

Edit: I had a quick look at the PDF. IMHO he's approaching the wrong customers. You want businesses with large customer lists. These are businesses that have grown beyond mum and pop stores or sole traders but are not too big that you're working with committees.

He's working his ass off. He's advertising, but not always getting decent results.
Every week, there's another freakin' new online site/service/picture sharing/video sharing/Social Media bullshit that's more confusing than anything.
He's good at what he does: fix pipes, put new roofs on, install heating/air conditioning units, deliver flowers, run a restaurant....whatever.

Someone comes along and says, "Hey, dude... I can help you tap into your existing customer base and squeeze some money out of it in ways you don't have a clue about. It won't cost you anything, because whatever money I make will only be made out of the future profits that you won't ever see unless I help you! Oh, but if you want to figure all that shit out on your own and burn thru your list 'cause you didn't know anything about this idea until I just brought it up, go right ahead and good freakin' luck with that!"

Yeah, maybe 3-5 people out of 100 MIGHT try to do something with that on their own.
And if so, great! Good luck.

Think about what I just said and see if you still feel the same.
And if you do, then go on to the next shiny object, 'cause you just don't get it.
