Get Ready to Tell Stories on WordPress





It's not often that Google releases a plugin specifically for Wordpress, but that's exactly what they just did. It's something we're very curious about for how it will work for niche sites, and where it's so new NOW might be the perfect time to try it out.

Even if it doesn't give us traffic, we can still reuse the google stories images on Pinterest, which is a proved way to get good amount of visitors. 2 works in just one.

With the plugin you don’t need to use AMP across your site. The stories run as AMP pages but the rest of your site doesn’t have to.
You can test your own web story on https://search.google.com/test/amp and even get a preview of what it looks like in the SERPs

It is beta.
The final version later summer will also include animation and page attachment support.

Add a link:

On the right side, there’s a “Link” box. It appears, as what I see at the moment, that you can’t add a link to a single word, but only to ALL of the text on the card.

Whenever I see any of the 'free' stuff from the big G, what comes to mind right away is to consider how there will likely be some sort of fine print that all users must agree to, and that it says in tricky ways that goog can use your stuff however they please and/or once posted inside their (whatever) it ain't your stuff anymore either.

The goog monster has fallen a very long way since the days when their slogan USED to be:
'Don't be evil.'

Basically all the big corpies that have huge computing powers are putting the screws to the small folks nowadays, which is very disappointing IMO.

BTW, after looking at the promo video in the OP, I noticed another offered in the sidebar entitled:
'The Faker You Are, the More Successful You Can Be'

Totally agree @smithnowt, especially watching the current trial of congress vs Facebook, they don't even know the correct questions to ask.

What I've noticed that Google is stealing traffic by putting answers to questions from search queries in the big box which doesn't require users to click through to the websites which is totally evil.

Someone from the Tech world will be required to police this and not the 70-80 year olds in congress who don't even understand the difference between a cookie and a plugin. I think it's time for some agency to create tech police that can eloquently explain the evil that these Big corps are pulling off.

Amazon views seller data, and their "marketplace" needs to be seperate from their selling platform it's counter productive. How they've manage to clump it all together and ask that you trust they are not using your selling data to push their own products is beyond me.

The only platform that I see their CEO is attempting to do any good is Twitter which their CEO is launching Universal Basic Income to test and see how it would help people. I'm not for handing out money because it will make people lazier than they already are, but atleast he's not conjuring up billions based off of data he's collected and using targeted ads revenue, and shoving into his pockets or using it to buy other competitors out like FB. They are running away with the tech monopoly, as soon as a competitor rises they either buy them out or steal their features, it's really disgusting.

Never try Google plugin on your important websites when it's just released a few months, most of them make ton of errors, specially compatible problems!

Sadly, all the really huge, overpowered corpies have been showing their (genuinely) evil natures very openly - even more since the viiiiruuus baloney came around.

It is even easier now to bully the small folks when they are already being manipulated and downtrodden.
