there are bugs in the GDPR elite pro. the Terms page is directing only to homepage and not to the terms page. i think as per GDPR there is no need to capture their emails but it is enough if they agree to consent for the cookies policy? correct me if i am wrong

But not gonna use it... Just my 2 cents. Do you guys know that there are plenty of free plugins to do almost the same thing? Just saying, you do not need to have all your websites built with stolen or nulled stuff. I personally discovered and use GDPR Cookie Consent https://wordpress.org/plugins/cookie-law-info/ There is also this https://wordpress.org/plugins/gdpr-cookie-compliance/ And plenty of others here https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/gdpr/ As far as i know you just have to have a link to your cookies policy, I added a big section in my privacy. There are free privacy and terms generators too. Cheers.

The freebies might be the way to go. I see 3 problems with the GDPR Pro plug-in:
1. The cookie pop-up doesn't pop-up on some of my sites, no idea why (and I'm using HideMyAss to appear to be from a EU country.) 2. When it does pop-up it pops up on EVERY designated page even if the visitor says "OK." Maybe that's the guideline's protocol but if so that makes the whole GDPR thing an even bigger pain in the you know what. 3. There's a consent request ... very badly conceived. Poorly explained. The default wording is poor and there is no guidance I could find as to where to deploy this. Home page? In which case you'll lose people immediately because it's a pain in the a. Opt-in page? In which case they have to give their email address once for the consent then again for the opt-in. Sales page? In which case they have to give their email twice again, once for the consent then again for the purchase. Very disappointing. Glad I didn't buy. Now I have to explore the freebies in more depth. See if they handle the things that GDPR pro does seem to be OK on ... the right to be forgotten etc. |
