I'm having problem "saving" the settings within the theme settings.

Anyone have similar issue? Currently using wordpress 3.8.1, the latest. What is the recommended wordpress version for this theme?

Even the back to top button not working when clicked. Javascript issue I suppose?

The package could not be installed. PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature


Any idea what could cause this?

This error is 'usually' a disk space issue.
Particularly as you say it only occurs on 'larger' plugins. So it definitely points to the disk space as the likely problem.
Your host may be running out of space on their hard drive. Even if you are on a host with 'unlimited space', hard drives are not actually unlimited and do run out of space.
Check with your host,
