My take on this? He took a general "sales funnel" and applied it to the restaurant business by researching the industry.

Research customers
Call at the right hour
Scam your way into a meeting with the manager
Create generic wordpress site
Search for plugins
Charge ridiculous prices

It is not completely off base but as someone that has 8 restaurant clients, he is one of those marketers I always warn my clients away from. Talks a great game but knows little about the nuts and bolts of running a restaurant. Case in point, "add this plugin and they won't have to pay for Open Table" which, the benefit of Open Table is not the reservations but the discovery aspect. I have seen clients with a 20% increase in sales due to Open Table because a new group of people discover them.

He glosses over SMS, ignores Email Marketing and never touches on Point of Sale Systems. Most restaurants are not falling over themselves to pay out $2000 to "fix" their website.

Trust me I have tried most of them.Most restaurants are not falling over themselves to pay out $2000 to "fix" their website.
