And some shmuck here on this forum will curse your name defending the concept all the while never even bothering to try out the course themselves. This is why 99 percent of people who buy money making programs never bother with implementing them or even reading them, they do not want to be shown the reality. They will read the sales page, love the concept, defend it with their dying breathe, all because of HOPE. People buy HOPE. That's what Luther and his ilk sell, nothing more.

I haven't DL this so my reply is tinged with a bit of ignorance, but NoJob is quite correct. There is no way that any business is going to pay such fees for a listing site.

But...

If you have other tangible services to offer such as Website Makeover, Rep Management, Social Media Management, SEO, Lead Generation etc..., then this method could be a very easy way to get your foot in the door and your good name out there in the local community.

How?

Well you could have such a listing site which instead of charging stupid bucks, instead lists companies for free [maybe charge a bit for a 'premium listing'] Getting prospects to sign up for a free listing is simple as it involves no selling. You simply phone up Company A and tell them that Companies B,C, D and E are in our FREE directory, why aren't you? You think thay might want to sign up?

And then the law of recipricosity also then comes into play.

Give first and give your best always, and if you have something genuine to offer small businesses that will help build and grow their own businesses, you will succeed faster than you ever thought possible in this space.

As usual, thanks for your thoughts. While some of your ideas intrigue me, the SEO and directory ideas don't.
Trying to get any site, first page listings in this area is virtually impossible. First you would have to get ahead of all the other Agents, (which considering the poor job most of them have done - is often possible.) Second, you would have to get listed ahead of all of the Real Estate Brokerages like Re/Max, Century21 etc. - Not going to happen! And lastly, you have to get listed ahead of sites like Zillow, Trulia and Realtor.com - really not going to happen! These sites have millions of indexed pages and millions of backlinks.
Obviously, any site without traffic is of no use. This looks like a ton of work with very little upside.
This brings me to your idea of doing website makeovers. This is a winner! I equate real estate sites with the dating niche. These days when a woman goes on a first date with a guy, she googles him first to check him out. That's what people do with Real Estate Agents - so if the site looks like crap, is not up to date or has little substance they are on to the next guy.
I have seen hundreds of these crappy sites with no organization, bad pictures, no testimonials etc. In short - nothing to add any value! These sites are begging to be made over.
IMHO, this is where the money is located! I hope this helps members of the forum and thanks to @midastouch for the idea!
