RE: [GET] Dan Kennedy - Info-Product Recipe
@xman10: Okay, buddy; no worries. I just sent you a message --- it went through just fine so I hope you're able to see it. Let me know if you have questions and remember to leave a little space in your Inbox when you make requests or PM someone who may need to get back to you.
@Adman1948: I looked into this to see if I could help with your problem. You mentioned that Part 2 was corrupt on trying to download it. I used the links in GordonShumway's original post and got no such message. Both parts downloaded just fine. I then wondered if you meant that the corrupt message came when you tried to extract the files. That sounds more like it because if you were trying to extract the Part 2 download and Part 1 wasn't "available" (as in the same directory), you would get that message. Now, the Part 2 icon does look strange. Instead of showing the traditional .rar or .zip icon we're used to seeing, the download shows as a simple plain white page; but don't let that throw you. Multi-part files like that just need to reside in the same directory as the initial file part. I won't assume that you need a tutorial on extracting files because most of us black-hatters can do that with our proverbial "hands tied behind our backs." Still, a lot of people don't know that multi-part files need to be together to successfully unzip or extract them. And 7zip is very good at handling larger files. This 2-part download totals almost 883 MB; a fairly large size. NOTE: Please disregard what I write from here onwards if extraction isn't the problem (after all, you said the corrupt error message came on downloading Part 2). Still, I am posting this for anyone who may need help extracting the file parts. So on downloading, I saved both file parts in a directory I created on my desktop and named Info Product Recipe - Dan Kennedy. Next, I extracted them. I went into the directory and right-clicked on the first part and choose 7zip as my program of choice because GS mentions that in the post share. I then selected "Extract here" and the files extracted. (Even though I didn't have to), I then went to the Part 2 file and did the same thing. It appeared as if little to nothing happened and that's because when all file parts reside in the same folder/directory, you only need to extract the first part. As I understand it, you will get a corrupt or other error message if trying to extract one of a multi-part file when the others are not in the same space (folder). Since the extraction software doesn't "recognize" the other, required files it needs to successfully extract, it would appear that the "stand-alone" file is corrupt. I wanted to make sure that all of the content I downloaded corresponded to what's actually in the full course. According to the sales page GS linked us to on archive.org, here's what's you get when you download Info Product Recipe: And here are the files showing in my download folder: CD-1
CD-2 DVD PDFs So it looks like everything is there. The file icons match the proper file extension so they should all open and are ready to be used. But just to be sure, I tested DVD 1 by double-clicking it and am happy to report that the Introduction to the program displayed flawlessly. It runs 1 hour 54 minutes, so it should be full of Dan Kennedy's juicy copywriting wisdom. As long as you save both file parts to the same directory you create to store them, on extraction, when you right-click Part 1 and "Extract here" then you're set. I didn't have a problem downloading or extracting. But if you still have a problem, you can PM me and I'll do what I can to help. for reading! Layna61524 |

RE: [GET] Dan Kennedy - Info-Product Recipe
@Layna
Thank you for your detailed explanation and confirmation that the files are all OK. Hopefully this will resolve the issue that some may have with unzipping these files. I just assumed that someone that is on a Black Hat site would have experience with unzipping multy part files like this. I would prefer to just stick my shares in to a single Zip, but as you know, many files share sites don't want you to have files over 500 MB for free accounts. Also, I know not everyone has fast internet so I break them down so they can download the pieces over time and if they get an error only need to download a single piece rather than start all over again. Your explanations and shares are much appreciated. Cheers, G.S. Consistency builds momentum... And that’s how dreams become a reality.

@GordonShumway: Max reps to you for a great share! And thank you for the kind post.
I didn't mean to make it so lengthy but I needed to confirm that there was nothing wrong with your links. I didn't want anyone else to see that post and assume the Part 2 link wasn't working and forego trying to download your share altogether. I also wanted anyone who wasn't used to working with multi-part files to understand how to extract them. You're right (and I mentioned in my post) that most black-hatters can do this without any help; still, there are newbies among us who cannot. Oftentimes, when people experience problems downloading or extracting files, their post could imply that the problem is with the source files (ex: links aren't working or there's a virus in the file, etc.) when the issue could easily originate from something on their end (ex: computer or browser issues, antivirus program is set to overly sensitive or simply a user error). Anyhow, I hope he sees my message (I also sent a PM) and tries this again. And if there is still a problem, he can PM me --- I'll help as best I can. Layna61524 |
