    1. Download the free one > Don't Activate > Go to plugins folder > Change the plugin directory
    From: wp-smushit
    To: wp-smush-pro

    2. Go to yourdomain.tld/wp-admin/plugin-editor.php >> Smush >> file: wp-smush.php
    - Line 72: change the second parameter to 32000000
    - Search is_pro() (Line 312) change to "return true;" (line 313)
    - Search $is_pro (line 420) change to "return true;" (line 421)
    - Search "empty( $api_key )" change the next line to "return true" (line 427 - 428)
    - Search $revalidate > change all to FALSE (Line:438 -> 467)

    3. Click SAVE, ACTIVATE the plugin and Enjoy!!!

i'm little bit confuse about step no. 2.

=> Go to yourdomain.tld/wp-admin/plugin-editor.php <= it's mean we open file plugin-editor.php right?

** >> Smush >> file: wp-smush.php ** so, what it does mean this step? becuase when i search it in plugin-editor.php file, i'm not found any "smush" word or "file: wp-smush.php"

No, mate. The free version of Hummingbird plugin does not inlude pro module in the plugin core directory.

There are numerous free plugins with similar functionalities: jetpack, w3tc, swift performance lite, wp super cache... and free on BBHF: wp rocket... :)

I do not use these cache plugins, I use redis cache for my wordpress sites on nginx server.

No, you go to that page to edit the plugin, not the "plugin-editor.php" file,LOL. You choose "smush" to edit from the drop-down list.

You surely cannot find "smush" in the wordpress core files, the one you shouldn't touch.

I think your problem is you haven't nulled all the "$revalidate" parameters to "false" as guided.
