[GET] DAN KENNEDY FUN FACTS!

Hey I just wanted to throw in my 2-pence in here, since we are continuing to have this amazing Dan Kennedy renaissance here at BBHF, with our highly esteemed friends Gordon Shumway and Layna basically volleying back and forth as they so generously lob endless upon endless Dan Kennedy goodness here for everybody to partake-

Plus you have excited Dan Kennedy fans and true students like tomwheelskirt (whom I've had the pleasure to communicate with personally and I can vouch that he is one of the biggest Dan Kennedy fans and student I've spoken with in addition to Gordon and Layna)-

Tom mentioned this on one of Layna's mega-share threads- And he is right-

All you REALLY need to study to be a Super-Success in-

-business

-marketing ( i.e. from the man who really brought direct marketing to the masses)

-copywriting

-speaking and sales communication

-and all-around developing a "Renegade" attitude towards being a true entrepreneur and really creating and sustaining your own reality- including all the financial, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual independence you would ever hope to realize and experience-

You simply CANNOT top Dan Kennedy-

ALL of the marketing greats cite Dan as their inspiration, their #1 model, THE pre-eminent teacher, master, guru- They ALL point back to Dan, including these illuminated marketing celebrities (most of the whom the general public have never heard of but those of us in our nice little enclave here are MORE than aware of)-

And so, here are some fun facts about Dan you may or may not know-


Dan worked with the #1 producer of infomercials in history- Guthy-Renker, and had a strong hand in the creation of Tony Robbins' mega-blockbuster infomercial that made Tony a household name- Personal Power

Dan never went to college, and has only had 1 official job in his life- That of a salesperson for a publishing company, which he says gave him alone a territory of like 7 different states he was supposed to cover- That didn't last long

Dan himself had both a Rich Dad and a Poor Dad- But it was the same person lol? Dan remembers when his family was doing very well financially, and also when they lost their money and were barely eking by-

Dan himself, once he became an adult also had his financial challenges for many years- He talks about how he was at a point where he was driving a 1960 Chevrolet, which he points out he bought for $50 ON PAYMENTS, and he also points out that it WASN'T 1960 when he bought it-

He also talks about a life-changing moment when he was at a success seminar and the instructor insisted to the group that they were EXACTLY where they truly WANTED TO BE IN LIFE- Well Dan, who was more broke than most NFL players after they leave the game, did NOT take the lesson well, and even says if people weren't around he might have gone up and given the speaker a piece of his fist-

Originally pursued a career as a "Self-help" guru, initially creating a course and speaking on the topic, however quickly learned that this wasn't going to pay the bills for him at the time, and quickly shifted to becoming the pre-eminent master of marketing, and created his flagship course that has sold in the tens of millions since the 1980's- Magnetic Marketing, which has launched arguably the most brilliant career in the field of business, marketing, and sales- That of Dan Kennedy-

And by "start" looking up I would recommend you do it NOW (no false scarcity here) because Dan's stuff gets taken down quicker than a "Trump 2024" lawn jockey in my neighborhood at least- Grab whatever you can Now, before it's gone-


And oh yeah, here was my point in sharing all of the "fun facts" about Dan- I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY (you think I'm recommending this lol?) encourage you to read Dan's gripping autobiography to REALLY be able to put ALL of his courses and teachings into context and to truly witness and understand how a true modern-day Self-Made Millionaire is created, and MAINTAINED, in this day and age-

It is called "My Unfinished Business," and it is a "business book" like no other- You will definitely walk away a better and much-more equipped business person ready to approach the "real world" of business, not some pie-in-the-sky, cartoonish glitzy sales page, IM version of "can't-fail" "push button" business that we are all sold out of someone's deceptive fantasy only focused on separating yourself from your hard-earned dollar (Oh wait, I blew that one, Dan insists we "never" use the term or think of money as "hard earned"- We must always watch our money language!)

Ok, thanks for letting me walk down the Dan memory lane- I have thoroughly enjoyed it, and now I'm ready to light a bunch of candles, get a hot bubble bath roaring, and dig on into my digitally dog-eared copy of "My Unfinished Business" yet again for the umpteenth time- I may even treat myself to some Uber Eats, maybe sushi in the bathtub?

Thanks Theo1 for jotting down the fun fact for marketing maverick Dan! I really enjoyed read every bit of it. I just want to add that every day when I visit BBHF, I make a point to go through "View Today's Post" and look for any goodies/treasures shared by Layna and Gordon, grab them as soon as I can. I would also add that you have something also thrown some golden nuggets of Dan's teaching.

I do appreciate the relentless effort put into sharing Dan's content here! Keep it coming.

And you are right. I am a HUUUUGE Dan Kennedy fan. Don't remember how I came across his old Magnetic Marketing product back in the day, but somehow I did and I am forever grateful I did.

Now, it goes without saying that the man is a legend. He's so smart and clever about this game of marketing. To the point where you think he cannot be any smarter... or you think you know something he don't... and then you realize he is like 4 moves ahead of you already and his smartness and cleverness just grows on you the more you study him.

Like that one time he wrote copy and sent an offer out to the Digital Marketer crowd.

The smart, astute marketers and copywriters looked at it and said to themselves "hmm, this probably isn't as good as it could be. It's positioned as an improvement offer. I wonder if Dan's not as good as we think he is or if he's losing his touch??"

Lo and behold, the results came back. It was not great. It was decent. But definitely not great and definitely not as great as it could have been if another great copywriter did the job for him.

"Ha, we were right" exclaimed astute marketers and thought we were smarter than Dan.

But when Perry Belcher, who was involved with Digital Marketer at the time, asked Dan about this specifically, Dan said:

"Oh, I did that on purpose. I am NOT looking for high response. Instead, I ONLY want to skim the best of best buyers off the list to me because they are the ambitious buyers who have money to spend and who take action. That's why they have money to spend in the first place."

There is always a method behind his madness. A reason why he does what he does. Nothing is left to chance.

Even in his paid products he does things to facilitate the relationship he has with his clients, reinforce them and their commitment as long-term buyers and ultimately move them up the pyramid to give him more money.

From the stories he tells, what he talks about, when he talks about it etc etc etc.

It's all deliberate.

And it's like watching a masterclass each time if you start looking for these subtle little things.

(you can't spot it unless you actively look for it)

Anyway, I can talk about Dan Kennedy forever. I have an Evernote chock-full of all the insights I have gleamed from him and learnt from him over the years. I treasure it as much as I treasure my relationship to my parents.
