RE: [GET]Copywriting Home Study- Sean D'souza - Pyschotactics.com
It has been my experience that when downloading from the multi-mirror sites and - here lately - Zippy in particular, your anti-virus program may react to something that is in the browser window (it's not as dangerous as a hijacked browser but some sneaky pop-up or pop-under or other intrusion Zippy serves up before giving you the file you want to download.
Here is what I do: 1. Go to the download page (ex: Zippy). 2. Click the orange download button ... BUT ... be very mindful of what happens next. If you get a URL in the browser that looks weird (lots of jibberish or something that looks nothing like the name of the file you're downloading) CLOSE THAT WINDOW. Not the entire browser --- just that window. You've got to be quick about it. What you're doing is preventing the window from fully loading --- stopping it in its tracks! You do that by simply clicking the "X" at the top-right of the screen. Be careful or you'll close the entire browser and lose where you are on the forum. You just want to close the window that Zippy served up instead of your download. 3. Go back to the Zippyshare page and click the orange download button again - That page should have been in the background so it will still be there. Now, you're good to go! It's crazy to have to jump through hoops like that but I find this method gets you the file every time. It just takes a little patience and diligence but once you close the first window (and nullify the problem) you can click the orange button and your download will work just fine. This works like a charm at the moment ... until those ad-whores find another way to force users to see content they're not interested in. I hope this helps some of you here. Layna61524 |
