Sorry about the late response. Giving it a look-through now! It looks like it mocks an actual exam, but the real question is, will it contain the correct answers.

Just looked through it. I found it very disappointing. No offense to you SteB81. I appreciate you sharing, but I can't recommend this "course."

Unfortunately this test is based on the CompTIA Security+ SY0-401 criteria. That certification was retired on July 31, 2018. The newest certification is the CompTIA Security+ SY0-501, and it was released October 4, 2017.

I'm not upset that it's out of date. It would still give a rough idea of what to expect. The most upsetting part about this course is that it's blatantly obvious that this "instructor" simply copied questions from various quizlet sets and put them into a mock exam format as if it were their own. The biggest indicator for this is the fact that even the typos from the quizlet sets were left in.

I'd definitely pass on this. So far there's a disturbing pattern with all of these "practice exams". They're not original and they're outdated by at least a year.

For anyone curious CompTIA has adopted and been using the continuing education format for a while now, so certifications are retired every three years and replaced with new ones. With something like the Security+ Certification you absolutely want to make sure that you're using the most current information. If you're in this field you know there's a handful of knowledgeable people keeping their content up to date; some of it's free and some of it's not.

Always something good can be learned, despite the bad things. We need to pass everything to the test, even the tests and the testers themselves ;) that is the only way to discover what is really good, useful and truth; and what is not (with a true critical spirit)!

I am just tired and being overly critical. I think my problem is that I can get pretty worked up when people try to claim the work of someone else as their own. The only benefit this instructor provided was a centralized location for five tests that are timed so they mock the exam.

Quizlet is free, and you can use their available tools to do the same thing; minus the timer of course. It's also the place where the content provided was pulled from.
